horrible website~ they knew there will be thousands of people checking it but they didn't do anything to improve that :-P
It's my third Half marathon race and my unoffical time is, surprisingly, the same as my pervious 2 HM (1 hr 45 min).
This course is flat... does it mean that I am not improving anymore :-( disappointed
BTW, great atmosphere. Several points for improvements:
a) public transport. Thanks for www.runningbus.co.uk
I am a student and don't have a car! I and several of my friends from uni cannot get a lift from anybody, and worrying how to get to silverstone for weeks. Luckily there are some nice people running 2 coaches from London, which is fast and comfortable. It would be VERY nice if the London marathin people can provide public transport (they can charge for that) from the train stations nearby (eg: oxford, milton k, northampton, etc)
I've done several races in Hong Kong before and they provide transport to and from the starting point. It is convinent, and the long queue in the carpark can be avoided.
b) food!!!!! i understand they wanna earn more $$$ by selling those expensive baguettes and runner-unfriendly burgers and chips...
Even local races have banana/fruits/energy bar in their goody bags... They rily need to improve!
c) T shirt are nice... but why we are not able to choose the size????? I was lucky to get an XL one (my size)
Really wanna improve my time... Shakesphere Marathon in Stratford is my next target :-) anyone doing that?
This is a joke ive been trying all day to see my OFFICIAL time, but to no avail! First ever race, and i really enjoyed it, im now not as worried about FLM! A time of 1.36 was good too!! Bring on London!!!!
Very fed up. Cannot get anywhere near the official results. Website running really slow. I guess if someone puts in a link to another site then that one will get clogged up too.
Can anyone offer any light at the end of this tunnel. Or am I just being impatient!!!?
Am actually quite please i cant get my result, i have been totally deflatted my work colleges about my effort yesterday, i was doing really well untill 11 1/2 miles when i could feel blisters on my feet and i slowed down so much, think i came in about 2h 45 ;0(
I was pleased i had finished it but would have liked it to have been 2h 30 or less. But feeling totally c**p about myself now thanks to the people i work with.
Don't listen to them Jacquie...you were the one out there running not them, do they run at all, probably not! Me, I fell over a poxy cone at 9 miles and twisted the leg I'd broken 11 months ago. Its all ouch today but at least we did it.
I took the day off today but know I'll get the same reaction tomorrow, I work in a garage full of unfit lads and just keep telling myself...I did it, you didn't! Leg is cool, fighting against blister on other foot at the mo. Happy healing and hope you will work on another one soon!
Does anybody think like I did about yesterdays race. It seemed to be lacking in atmosphere and then after the race to find your medal in the bag. How poor is that
Bloody hell CraigB, you've had a busy day finding results!! Almost got you to find out mine, but iy's much better this evening.
Tried earlier today at work and it was taking ages. I haven't read all of this thread but by the length of it I'm guessing everyone else had the same problem!!
Does anyone know the photos site? Hopefully they will be a little quicker.
Juicer, have noted yours. What were Mary's and Matt's numbers??
Greg, Thanks for the link. Why couldn't the London Marathon team do something that simple? Reading 1/2 marathon results were available in pdf format yesterday!! Now I can browse to my heart's content.
My first half marathon & my happy bubble still ain't burst. I didn't walk which was the biggest goal, & I was quicker than I thought. Best of all my first long run with NO blisters, avon, anti blister cream, a bit like vaseline but smells nice,
Jacquie, same story for me. I've been struggling with an injury for the last 2 weeks and really shouldn't have run, but I couldn't miss this one. Starting hurting by 3 miles; in agony by 10; and literally could barely walk today. Source of much merriment to everyone at work, seeing me take 5 minutes to hobble to the coffee machine! But who cares - I got round, beat my target time and had a great day. Nothing beats that.
Why are the forums the same...whinge, whinge, moan, moan. Yes it did take a while to get out of the car park but mainly due to the don't give a monkey's about anyone else attitude displayed by others, (thanks to the lady who decided she should be out before anyone else and locked up the whole thing)...Great day and a privelige to finsh a lap where even some formula one teams have failed
I had an excellent time! Thought it was a fantastic event and very well organised, having never taken part in something of that scale. I finished in 2:18:02 and was well chuffed for my first half. Six weeks 'til the biggie!!!
I think that one of the great things about the day was the way that the organisers managed to find a route that was at least 12 miles of up hill, of course it could just be my imagination...
Hi all I thought the race was well run but like so many was disapointed with the goody bag? didn't have too much pain today and put that down to some good stretching at intervals after the run, had a nice chat to trudy from high wycombe so if you read this hope your painless and happy with your time. looking forward to a good run in the london marathon and lastly well done everyone for being so friendly.

3609 was me, around 1.44 I think. Help.

No none of them run, they made it clear how stupid they thought it was. Just a bit down about it really.
I hate when people burst your happy bubble.
(stupid cone hope your legs ok soon)

Best of all my first long run with NO blisters, avon, anti blister cream, a bit like vaseline but smells nice,
People have been saying it will be worse tommrrow, pain wise ,,,is that true?
What should i be doing to save myself from more pain or stiffness?
Just spent two hours looking on the official site- yours took 2 minutes
Will love to see the cars racing round and know how many footsteps i have taken and what effort i have put in.
Like you say i have already beaten some F1 cars, just by completing one lap !! Thanks for that positive thought!
Who cares if it took a while to get out, we all did in the end....
Much easier to find and pleased to see i was 3 minutes faster than i thought, still slow but faster than i thought !!!
it did feel like that towards the end when i was struggling.
looking forward to a good run in the london marathon and lastly well done everyone for being so friendly.
