Anybody else look at or use the number of cals they burn during a training session, according to your HRM ?
I have been using a polar recently and after last weekends long run of 21.75 miles it says that I had burnt 3000 cals. It is definitely configured properly with my right weight, age and rest heart rate etc. I find this figure very hard to believe, especially cos all it took was a ckingsize chunky kitkat and a big ham sarnie to make me feel better.
Anybody else seen astonomically high cals burnt estimated, or even really low ones ??

Dunno about treadmills though.
Hey - if you weigh 83 kilos - then 3000 calories is correct for a 21.75 miles run.
I have the S610i model (the one that does the bike stuff as well)
just can't figure out why it is giving such a high figure...
What have you set as your MAX-HR? and what was your average HR during the exercise?
Me: 70kg, +22 miles, 3hrs, avg HR 160, kcal 3171
Girlfriend: 52kg, same ~22 miles, 3h10m, avg HR 166, kcal 1408
(girlfiend has M22 Polar HRM)
That gives me more than twice calories burned over same distance!
