LAst CFT i did was in Catterick on the tank training area, did me good to hear all those young people dying a death behind me !! waaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind !
If you do a CFT in less than 55 minutes it's deemed a failure... nonesense.
Bune, basic training is when you get to run around in your underwear and clean the toilets with your toothbrush... but as soon as you pass out it's easy street all the way.
I love the old BFT 2 mins pressups, 2 mins situps and 1.5 mile best effort!!! Love it!!! Get to do it every now and then but I'm one of about 10 people in my unit that can pass it... sad!!!
GMK - Yeah I did wonder .. the first time we did it we marched part of the way (at VERY FAST tabbing speed), doubled part, then slowed wa--a--a--y down in the last few hundred metres, almost to a complete stop!
I used to enjoy the RA fitness test , beep test , situps and press ups ..if you were over a certain age they stuck you on a bike with a hrm and made you do a "grip " test
Climbed Ben Lomond yesterday with my green beret best buddy... twas brilliant... we totally tabbed it out and overtook a number of "experienced" walkers... I know with hillwalking that it doesn't matter how quick you do it in...everyone still gets a really good workout... but we really enjoyed racing up the mountain with a decent amount of kit on our backs... through the clouds, ice and snow... brilliant!!!!

Playtex knickers? I had some brilliant Jockey (girls) ones that I used to play hockey in cos they were tuff enuff to withstand astro ut had to throw them away cos they had more holes than fabrisc and definitely were not to be seen in!
