Does anyone know if there are any charities which still need people to run fot them?? I didn't manage to get a place on the FLR via a normal application or through a couple of charities.
I think the answer to getting a Gold bond place is keep trying, I have just sucured a place with Leukaemia Care after e-mailing from the official London Marathon magazine Good luck Grant
Whizz-Kidz still have places - we will fill up by something like mid Jan. We do ask for £1500 though - the places cost charities £300 apiece, but people raise £1800 on average for us. If you want to apply on line, just go to www.whizzit.co.uk
I ran and raised the cash for Whizz-Kidz last year - one of the most memorable experiences of my life!
I have just returned my GB place to the Roy castle Lung Cancer Foundation, having got a place in the club ballot. I'm still running for them, but on a club place. Their bond is 1000 pounds - good luck Christian
I seem to recall that there's a charity clearing web site, although I don't know the website address.
Plenty of worthwhile if less well known charities. No offence meant, but I suspect some charities would be harder to raise money for than others, but there are plenty of smaller charities which are still major causes - cancer, leukaemia etc.

Good Luck
Outward Bound still have a number of places left too, you need to raise £1000
Marathon's website also has a listing of charities but I imagine a lot of them may be taken by now.
AND don't forget to visit us and build your sponsorship webpage once you've secured a place.
Good luck & Merry Xmas
