Just wanted to say that I miss my small podge now that it's cold! It used to keep me warm and I never really felt the cold.
Usually at this time of year I would be about a stone heavier but since I started running, obviously not this year. As a result I think it's efin freezing!
I went out for a run last night (-3 ish)wearing more than I would have done to go for a walk before, great run though!!
Anybody else feel the same?? Any nuggets of wisdom to keep slim people from feeling downright icy and how exactly do you measure % body fat?

Its taken me months to to get to that stage. Good work fella!
CN, if you weren't overweight before make sure you're getting enough carbs in otherwise soon you'll start getting tired as well as cold.
Hang on, that's obviously now the people who percieve that they need to lose weight, (but not necessarily) and the anti smokers from my last thread. It must be 2/3rds of the forum by now!
(Keeps head down for rest of the day, only daring to peep into non contentious forums under cover of darkness)

That makes'em laugh, it really does!
"What do you mean half Chimp"
Was that aimed at me then? Charmed I'm sure!
Thanks for the support Glenn, no wish to diss the North at present Chimp. I've never been much overweight, (oops that's really torn it!!!!)
Still consuming upwards of 20 pints per week, should this be increased and factored into my training programme, ( well if i had one)?
CN
OOops sorry to remind all the northerners of that one.
Now people can hate CN, Chimp and Glenn....
hehehe
Creeps away all miserable.
I've always really felt the cold (still love it though) because I've always been slim. The solution is simple: heat your house adequately, and wear wool!!! Yes, when I spent last New Year's in Norway with my b/f's family, his mother was always loading heavy woollen jumpers on me. That worked!!
Oh yes, and drink hot drinks, that helps too.
I had thought of hibernation but the firm don't think much of the idea.
Will consider the Kebab though and possibly warm beer.
Cheers

Just thought, another quite healthy thing would be to make sure you have a couple of handfuls of nuts each day. Protein, calories and the right kind of fat.
I love those Icelandic holidays for the elderly Hildegard!
No, don't all rush at once to escape the snow ....
(See DavidB, I told you I'd get pants in a thread somewhere!)
Well done LizzyB I hope you feel good for the weight loss. As I said I miss it cos I'm cold and none of my trousers fit properly.
I didn't intend to lose weight, i run for stress relief and it works wonders + many other benefits.
Godzilla, take Hildegards advice and wrap up warm when knackered.
Cheers

Gotta go home now, will drink beer as this is a rest day and contemplate the intake of massive carbs.
CN
Hmmm, I shall have to look into that Icelandair offer - seems to good to be true. But aren't you still having unseasonably warm temperatures over there? Wouldn't want it to rain or anything.
Glenn,
Me hate you? How silly! I merely take pity on your Tab connections...
Chimp,
Elderly? Well, it is my birthday this month, but I won't be that old. I wonder if it will make me a faster runner though? We have snow here, and I'm so looking forward to running in it!
