It entails eating curry and the venue varies - as long as it's in zone 1, people seem happy. I think most of the regulars are City based - but I don't mind where as long as it's in staggering distance of a tube station.
A group of us will be heading to a pub somewhere in London( almost certainly in Zone1 ) where we will begin drinking... At some point during the evening ( probably about 7:30) we will move on to a curry house ( also almost certainly within zone 1 and preferably near to the pub)...
Anyone's welcome(as far as I know), and we'll argue about which pub/curry house combo we'll be trying a little closer to the time.
This month may have a special feature of the third leg of our own special Dave-Candy triathalon.
leg 1: Arm wrestle.- Pretty much a draw. leg 2: Pint drop .- Dave won hands (and pints) down leg 3: Curry eat off.
This is a CURRY night, not a chinese, not an italian, not a sushi and definitely not a mexican. I could possibly be swayed by a Thai curry alternative but that's as far as it goes!
Like l_p says - there's no need for it to hurt. A nice mild chicken saag for instance - no generic bland creamy sauce but not much heat either.
Mmm... taste buds are getting going already [and I'm supposed to be popping out for a lunch-time run :-( ]
think lp meant doing something in addition to curry, rather than replacing the curry night - (lp I seem to remember having a chat about this on Friday, didnt' we? to fill up the missing night!)
Comments
I think it should, 12th is definitely good for me.
-- I'd generally rather we moved it to the 2nd week of the month to keep it further from the social anyway!
I'd love to come to this but I'll be away then, I'll make the next one though.
We did have a bit of a problem with the curry night clashing with the SW London social night.
I'm going away that weekend, so a curry be the perfect start to it.
yummy...partridge vindaloo (it's the Glorious 12th see)
What does it entail?
I'm new to this.

Come and support your favorite Tri-Fool :-)
which for Dodge and Rattie, were The Old Bank of England (Fleet Street) followed by Sitar (Strand)
my bottom the next morning gave every indication of it having been a top curry. and the fact that i cant remember it was a big thumbs up for the beer.
This Sitar?
I would like to suggest that we pay another visit to the Shampan at some point that - think that's a superb curry house.
Nice and close to work.
Not such a big fan of Shampan, but quite happy to go there sometimes.
but hopefully....
JFB - absolutely, a bit closer to the day someone will start adding a list here so we can book if there are a lot of us.
Dodge - order what you like (although I think this time a few people might be seeing just how stupidly hot they can handle)
But I am wondering whether we can fit in a chinese/italian night instead of the moved social if you'd prefer that.
I am just not an Indian/curry type of a bird to be honest :-/
and i'm sure i'm supposed to be training for something....
:-)
Hmmm - won't do a lot for my training either!
