Good afternoon, in a tradition of keeping home making alive, pop in for a chat. Share a recipe, tell us about your latest craft project, a place of warm fluffiness, friendship and hugs.
Oooh what about Poached cod in milk with cinnamon and pepper, baby potatoes and seasonal veg......only takes the length of time to cook as it takes the pots and veg to cook )))))))) Another alternative is poached trout stuffed with slices of lime or lemon... Mmmmmmmmmm
Sausage and Lentil simmer: One packet good sausages, 65g pancetta cubes, fry together for 10 minutes until brown. Add one finely diced onion, 3 cloves garlic chopped and one carrot finely diced. brown off the onions. Add 450ml hot chicken stock,150g puy lentils, 1 tbsp white wine vinegar, 2 sprigs rosemary, small tin 200g chopped tomatoes. Simmer for 45 minutes until lentils tender. Serves 3 (or 2 very hungry/greedy)
Place the fish in dish with a lid, add a small amount of milk 100ml (Skimmed of course). sprinkle with cinnamon (short cooking time so not enough time to infuse stick) and ground pepper corns. Place in middle of pre heated oven gas mark 4. At the same time place potatoes on to boil, veg should be cooked to your preference. steamed if possible well cooked same time as pots or al-dante 10mins max. Serve with a light soy or white wine, parsley and lemon sauce sauce, and season with salt and pepper.... voila.....
Twintubella - advice from my friend and mother of 3 (one set twins included) is that they will sleep very well if mother imbibes booze. She's a doctor too. So it must be ok.
twintubella, think if I had 5 week old twins, I'd be living on gin! I'll have a gin when the clock strikes 6 please!
I'm in the middle of cross-stitching a cushion cover - indian elephant - very colourful with beads etc, then, when the light gets too bad in the evening, I'm knitting an aran jumper. I can't just watch tv, I get too bored.
I'm a Nigella devotee too - have you tried her chocolate fudge cake - I do it for birthdays etc and won't tell the family where the recipe comes from, so they think I'm very talented!!!! ;0)
Hello Twintublla, not seen you around before, I have twins who are now 8, but no longer breastfeding:-)))
I drank when I was feeding, though much less than I do now.
Alley cat hav you tried a daylight bulb, I find that helps enormously. Am also knitting a jumper for little H, purple with a bright orange band across the bottom. Have stacks of other projects on the go to.
Must get on and do some more and not sit and drink in the summer house.
Thanks BB, have heard of the daylight bulbs, but haven't tried one, unfortunately that means that I'll have to pop to my local craft shop - which means I'll have to spend too much money - oh well!
I love having lots of projects on the go (as long as there are no deadlines!)
Browns spaghetti, bolognese and creamy cheesy sauce for supper tonight.
Pours out a tray of large G&T's, even larger Whisky and Canada drys and several glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice for feeding mummys and non alcohol peeps.
Hello twintubella, you obviously like a drop of gin too, just watch out for Hippo, she may try & fight you for the last drop ;-)) Congrats on the twins, must be hard work
glad that my projects in the cupboard have names! WIMP's - like it!
just doing a marie rose sauce for some prawns - anyone like some? Had a large (pub) lunch, so we're snacking for dinner - smoked mackerel and brown bread, followed, probably by pate

Would love to have a gin later, but unable to have alcohol at the moment, as I have 5 week old twins, could have dire effects there!
I like the recipes too
