Whenever I go out on my runs I only ever see (how shall I put it nicely?) - "veteran" runners out and about. Usually slobbering everywhere (sorry!) but it's true and it's enough to put you off going out. I am 19 and hardly ever see anyone below the age of 30. If you are in a similar age category to myself would you mind running around Derby for me please? so that I have something to look forward to...
Many thanks,
Rachel.

(if not Rachel then any women will do...)
I'm the same age as you, but only have one more day left.
Unfortunately live far away from Derby
I think there needs to be fresh young blood coming through in athletics/running
Unfortunately that seems to be your best offer so far.
...and I am sure that one day I shall be a wrinkled slobbering wreck as well and there is nothing wrong with that it's just there seems to be too many oldies. WE YOUNG ARE OUTNUMBERED!
;o)
Blimey - I'd hate to rile you.
And I am sure you would be quick enough to join a group other than the aged Mum's group (that's mine)
I might try Derby AC. I've just recently got my mum into running but she's not sure about joining a club. What is the "mum's" group like at Derby AC?
****!
The Mum's group consistw of two of us who go for a run rather than sit in the club room and wait for our kids.
To give you an idea of pace I did the RH half marathon on Sunday in 2:46 - so we are sloow. We generally run for about 50 minutes, around about 6K.
It is not really a club for people that slow, but some folk are friendly enough.
I keep promising myself I'll give Shelton Striders a go, but its another evening or twout, and with three teenagers to taxi there son't seem to be too many of those spare.
I shall be going there tomorrow evening if you are interested.
Us city centre dwellers are much more civilised of course, or if I wanted to appear posh I'd say I lived in Strutts Park.
Do you look a picture of beauty when you run then?
Im impressed that you can-running is usually hard work-hence" slobbering" and so on
I think RRR thoroughly regrets that thread, mayeb she will see us older people through clearer eyes, now. I'm deemed as 'old' to her, also, and I'm only 31! Kids of today!
