Argos: No probs.- The offer's open to anyone who needs somewhere to crash though...
I'm thinking just meet at the Lantern at about 6ish(or when they open)- There's a harvester nearby which isn't a great pub, and a "irish" pub over the road which I've never been in.
I will no doubt be flying in form the Alps again.....so not sure when I will be able to make it......but am sure I will track u down at some point!!! )
Not sure about staying btw.....depends where I have to be the next day.....also may drive in from Heathrow....is this a sensible idea? ie Is there anywhere to park and also how long will it take????
havent been online for a little while - but just looking back it looks like lp hasn't had to put a deposit down for us? Is that right? anyway, i've put myself on the list again - its 99.99999% likely Ill be there and if not then Ill pay any deposit anyway.

I'm planning to formalise the booking this evening.- Looks like 8 definites.- I'll tell them we're hoping for a couple more.
Have we decided whether to go to a pub first, or be *really* lardy and get there when they open and keep repeating the first couple of courses until everyone arrives ?
Does repeating of the first couple of courses come as part of the normal price, ie will it cost no more? If that is the case then I say go for that and fill our faces.
Dodge: They generally just keep bringing food until you can't physically fit any more in, then they bring deserts!
<Quoting from the menu> A Rough Guide to Meze
What's in a Meze? It depends on the season and what our chefs have selected from the best on offer at the markets, so it can and does keep changing. You cna change it too- just let us know if you have any special loves or hates and we'll do the rest. It is our policy to serve food at its best. We want you to find something different every time you have Meze. OUtlined below is a very rough guide of what you might expect, it isn't a menu. You will start with some tasty dips, Taramosalata, Houmus, Tsatsiki and sometimes Tahini, served with pitta bread, accompanied by a bowl of greek salad with feta cheese. The rest of the cold starters, potato salad, fasolakia and perhaps a pasta salad will follow and then fish - scampi, kalamari, and whitebait. Now sample Louganica- Cypriot wine sausages, cleftedes- meatballs, lountza - smoked loin of pork and halloumi - the grilled goats milk cheese. Moving on to the meat - a comprehensive selection from the charcoal. For those with healthy appetites, we would then suggest some Kleftico( the succulent slow cooked lamb), Mousaka and Stiffado. To complete your Meze you will be offered a taste of greek Pastries and an array of fresh fruits.
A meze is meant to be lingered over so "siga, siga." take it slowly and savour the variety and subtle flavours of each dish.
Last time we were there, we had at least 2 lots of extra Haloumi, extra kalamari and about 4 times the "standard" number of pastries. I can't see it being a problem.- The only problem is filling up too much on the early stuff and not being able to eat the Kleftico and Stiffado!
Lucrece.- When we sit down we'll tell them how many eat meat, how many are veggie, how many think fish are vegetables and how many think fish are the scum of the earth and won't touch the stuff:0)
Then they just bring us food until we can't eat any more ( actually, they'll bring us wine and beer too.- Huzzah)

Dodge & lp - I know its still more than 2 weeks away but any idea when / where we're planning on meeting?

Comments?
I'll check the opening times, but I think go straight there is the best option.
Well I'm with Dodge and would prefer the pub (obviously) but if its no good - does the Lantern have a bar area?

The picadilly line tube goes straight between Heathrow and Ealing common.
You should be able to find street parking fairly near by - As a worst case, there's usually some outside our place and that's less than a mile away.

( It can be as little as 15 mins from Paddington if that helps.)
