Well I popped out over the common on Sunday and was out for an hour and think I did around 5 miles, I went up and down a few hills to try and get some practice in as I have only ever run on flat groud!!
It was hard work but I did feel good after!!!
I will be just aiming to finish this race this year and then next time I should be fitter and be able to aim for a time!!!
I think it's that time fo year for colds etc especially as the temp has dropped over the last few days!!!
I am going to go for a 30 min plod after work tonight (on flat groud) just to get used to the cold!!
...from looking at the pictures on the website, it looks as though wearing too much may be a problem. When you're soaking wet, the less you've got on, the better. However, Tamsy, it should be much warmer at 1030 in the morning, than on a dark, miserable evening after work.
Ah I will be wearing shorts tonight and as you say it won't be as cold at 10.30 in the morning (I hope!) so this will be good practice....less is better!!!!!
I thought I would pop in at the weekend, check the place out and have a word face to face! I am sure they won't mind the only problem will be if they have a christmas booking?! If that is the case then I thought the Brewsters in Aldershot is big enough...just not as nice!!
I'm aiming to spend the next month running in just shorts and vest so that the freezing cold at grim won't be so bad....er maybe....including a half marathon on the sea front at Bexhill this weekend. lovely!
Tamsy - yes, Tweseldown, that was the one I was thinking of. As you're not far, I think you should try the Camberley XC next Sun 21Nov for some practise!

Talking of cupping, have you had a chance to contact the Foresters, Tamsy?
Will post as soon as I have spoken to them!
