Been very busy this last couple of weeks new job and all that. Managed a 2 hour cycle in the Cotswolds on Saturday and the knees have held up well so I'm definitly going to start trying to run. Very very slowly.
Had lunch at your local noodle bar last week FB. Good Pad Thai!
good to hear that the knee is getting better Lista but don't push it...
so you met the famous Toy eh?? she's the owner and cook and is great fun when you know her.........must go again, haven't been for a while! why were you in Eastbourne btw??
Hi all. Sorry to be AWOL the last few days - my best mate, drinking buddy and w*rk colleague died suddenly on Wednesday from a brain haemorrhage. I've known him for over 20 years.
Thanks Jj. I've been sorting out his personal effects at w*rk and tying up lots of loose ends. Also covering his shifts whilst inducting a relief caretaker. He'd only been married 4 months when he died. I was his best man... remember, it was why I couldn't stay late at the London social when I saw you there. Wedding was the day after. They had been partners for 14 years or so before marrying. His wife has had it tough this year - had breast cancer and had a mastectomy. Now this. Poor woman! My wife & I and two other couples used to all go out with him and his wife for meals out etc. All very close and all now devastated.
Mrs kk and I and two couples all used to go out together. One of the girls died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism , leaving her husband with a 16 year boy and 13 old girl to look after. We had lost a friend of many years. Tragic.

sometimes I think it's worse when close buddies up sticks and go as you least expect it.......
It would seem you shared many good times with him and he was a good friend to both you and your wife.
My thoughts are with you, his wife and others that knew him,
Gumps
On a lighter note, I mean, who's gonna call me a fat northern dwarf every day now?

Anything to help a bit
