Hi folks, it's a sad day, my consultant has decided i need further surgery after the results of my MRI scan. Tears in my meniscus and collateral ligiament need tidying up with the knife. Its a bad blow i was looking forward to finally meeting some of you Forumites at various events during summer, i'd even sounded Kackeredknees out to accompany him, on the FLM in 2004. Now depending when the surgery takes place (march or april have been suggested) the FLM in 2004 could turn out to be a tall order. My consultant has also spotted a fair degree of muscle loss on my injured left leg ,due to fact i'm trying to compensate for the pain in my knee. It's gonna take time, but i'm determined to run again and wear, my so far, unused URWFRC shirts and vest, with pride. I,m gonna keep my eyes on the urwfrc forum, for your wit and good humour, to keep me sane! I hope you all stay injury free and enjoy your running. All the best - Old Timer-

Hope the op goes well.
Greeny.
I know how I felt last year when I was told to stop. Gutted for you.
However have the op, do the physio, and when you're ready we'll run!
Mind you I think I finally get to ear my URWFRC vest before you.
All the best. Roger........
Good luck for a speedy recovery

Can only suggest you try and discover what the remedial exercises are - and start doing them before the op - as it'll help you be able to do them afterwards more easily - if you see what I mean.
All the very best

Keep the faith, it can work miracles.
I too have torn my meniscus and have to have an MRI scan and then op. I thought I might be running again shortly afterwards. Let me know how you get on. No horror stories please!
Im keeping everything crossed for you
