Hi everyone!!! What an amazing race I thoroughly enjoyed it, well up till about the 18 mile mark anyway - the last 8 were a bit of a slog. Managed to run up to 22 miles with no walk breaks but did walk a bit of the last 4.
Anyway finished in 4:37:50 which I was extremely pleased with and managed to beat a lot of my club mates who were over 5 hours. Legs were extremely sore yesterday, a bit better today. Hoping to go for a SLOW jog for a couple of miles tonight just to move that lactic acid around a bit!lol
Splodge got a PB - I'm sure she'll come on and tell you her time when she gets a chance
no guns i managed to get round without a loo stop lol.
it was warm, luckily more than enough water stations so i didn't suffer although a lot of people did.
i will enter next year, apparently they allow a certain amount of 'foreigners' in so may have a chance if i enter from oz. if i do get a place i will defer it till the year after and come back then. i want to do sydney next year!
Sounds like everyone I know who ran had a really good race. I did watch it and I did run beforehand only 5k, didn't see anyone I knew when watching it.
Trying to up my running standards but getting really bad rumblings in my tum again so fingers crossed its not the old problems flaring up, going back to doctors this week so will get some more emergency back up tablets just in case.
No way I could do FLM, can't even picture 26.2k let alone miles!
ive not run since friday what with work the weekend and being busy monday and yesterday fitting a new loft ladder and tidying up the loft ready for boarding lol
badders today 2 hours but feels like a nice colds on the way.....prolly the 1 shers had the last 2 weeks...DOH!!
Am gonna email you and Norma with dates of all the local races I am doing over the summer so you can pick which one(s) you fancy coming down for. Will only give 10mile or 1/2's as it's a long way to come for a 10k!
thx johnny! back in the loft later for me lol more flooring to go down for the loft, when the weather cheers up a bit a skylight window will be going in... no rest for the wicked huh lol
Hi everyone. Not sure I will run tonight - problem with my leg still. Trying to get a physio appt for tomorrow. Aching in my hip and pain at top of my leg, also hammy and calf tight. Don't want to make it worse!
I know guns I should take it easy but don't want to lose all that fitness I have built up! I am impatient to get back out there! At least if I have to rest for a while the physio will be able to suggest other cross training I can do
hello Angel and Splodge, yes would love girls night out but what date, I'm sort of heaving at the moment I've been volunteering for babysitting left, right and centre, give me a Saturday date?....
okay, its a date then! A social life at last, just going out for a run to clear my head then off running with SPlodge tomorrow night, the dog (Dudley) is having an absolute headfit tearing round the garden at 300mph, hysterical, well it would be if you were here watching it....

got a Pb by 4mins and 4 seconds. Did 4.11.52 but no photo's up yet (
Noma, there's one of you up already and i can't check for sara cos i need a running number.
Sara, haven't got hold of my friend yet but never fear, I'm on the case )
haven't been for a run yet becuase although the legs are now almost back to normal by toe is still twice as big as it should be.
I have huge blood blisters under both big toe nails and fear they are destined to fall off yet AGAIN.
It's not my shoes, I think i must scrunch my toes up when i get really tired or something like that.
Pip, as sara says she is hoping to come and do Tewkesbury so i thought we could maybe meet up on the saturday evening for some nosh?
