Laurac, you expect me to run with you at MK if you finished 8th?! Balls to that! Come on everyone, 24th July, get your asses over there.....it's near my house!
The handicap is a 5KM race through Trent Park (Near Oakwood Tube). It's off road through woodland on footpaths and private road.
Registration closes at 9:30 in the Hockey Club on Snakes Lane and the race starts around 10a.m.
When you register you need to give an approximate time for your 5km as the start is staggered according to your time.
This means that everyone comes together as you approach the finish for a final sprint. The winner is therefore the one who's improved most on the day. It's a good one 'cause it's rare for the fast runners to win.
Entry costs £2.50 and there're showers in the clubhouse.
The route changes direction (on the same course), each month and there are two hills which ever way you run. It's not one for PB's, but it will test your judgement of pace.
JB,, I did mate, if there's enough interest. Otherwise, me and you talking about Capri's all night might get a little tedious? (only a little though...)
Frankeee, 30th July found it, I wonder if I'd be allowed out for this, the Hyde Park 5k the day before and the RW social after........I can't do Aug, Sep, or Oct......
Snoop sign me up! Also in June in Normandy is the Liberte Marathon which runs through all the villages of the landing beaches from WW2 and there's a shorter 15k alternative.
You know I can see myself staying in Le T for a couple of weeks, doing the Transbaie at one end and le T at the other..........I'll look for that link Snoop.

Get yourself fit so you can come try the 5KM handicap. I'm not around this month, but should be in for the one at the end of August.

Coopers, I don't think we've really discussed vinyl roofs in depth.
Can't do MK unfortunately, I'm already down for Elmbridge 10K that day & 3-line whip for family birthday bbq later.
Keep researching those French races!
Tiger any preferences re-where and when?
the August one should be Saturday 27th.
I'm in Plymouth for the July one... Laura may be around though?
Which 5K are you referring to? I might be able to make one.
THIS is the race to do in N France next June, and it's straight down the motorway from Calais or Boulogne, past Le T.
I'll ponder Paris-Versailles.
Thumbs up to next June's race - wading through the sea!!!
I prefer June or early July as a time of year for this - too much going on at other times, and the weather is likely to be at its best then.
And whilst Le T is perfec', having done it twice now, I think it's time to move up the coast a bit.
Have you got a link to the Liberte 15k as well?
looks like one I'd do.
Coop, am entering London this year and will train as before. If I don't get in then I'm heading for Paris. Nothin' like trying to break a PB.
Would suggest we all stay over on the Sunday this time. Besides, it's not as if you can move afterwards! (or drink a pint in my case)
