Yep Blue Knees it is Hampshire Fleet. Application forms can be found at www.fleetandcrookhamac.org.uk If the course is the same as last year (run in June), then it starts at the Harlington Centre, goes down the High Street, takes a left just before the Station (Elvetham Road) goes up to the roundabout at the end and takes a left back towards town. This lap is then repeated. If you did the Fleet Half this year then part of the course is common. It's not flat but its not hilly either, just plain old Hampshire undulations.
Sorry Blue Knees didn't really answer your question. Yep I would recommend it, its convient for me as I live in Fleet, the organisation was pretty good last year.
I would but Weymouth 10 is on the day before 19/10 and it's a club run.
I don't really like the Wey 10 course it goes up this nasty hill not once but twice and then if it's windy it's 2 steps forward and 3 back for 2 miles along the sea front. I must be mad but I've entered. Oh well I'll get some club points!
Got my number on Saturday 186 (or is it 189?). Ran the course on Sunday to get a feel for what sort of time I should be looking for, (coming back for a slight knee injury), felt pretty good managed an average time of 20 secs/mile slower than my brighton desired time. Heart rate was pretty low today for my easy 30 mins. So all round looking forward to this event.
Lots of Fleetites amongst you - brought up in Fleet but managed to escape! How many run usually? Prefer bigger venues as I am not so likely to be last!!!! also is it a fast course?
Zebedee, I really don't know how many run. I ran the 5K fun run last year because I didn't feel ready for a local 10k, like yourself I was worried about being last. I remember there being quite a lot of people ahead of me at the start and many people still coming through after 30 mins for the second lap. It is a nice course, not sure if I'll manage a PB but it could be possible. Give it go, go on I know you want to
Sorry to hear that BK, hope its not the stomach problems that dogged me at Windsor.
Found out that my neighbours (who drove me up) have been laid low the past week with "digestive problems" , obviously the germs are working there way up the street now !
Feeling in good shape this week so I'm going to have a crack at sub42 (sub41?) on Sunday!
Congratulations to Dustin for taking his PB from 42:03 to 40:12 on a cold and wet day at Fleet. Well Done also to organisers for a very well organised race.
Slo Mo how did you get on. Sorry to have missed you

2 laps (Fleet High Street/eversley road/Reading Road) , fairly undulating , nothing too sinister.
PB?
