MickNPhil mania is taking over! Promise me you guys still have to sign my copy of runners world when you get the RW article written. No getting out of it now! It's all about 'Runners looking after Runners'. And yes you two guys really are this popular. You'll proberly have a spare chair at this rate!
Perhaps we should organise a raid on some of the forums, bit like these flash mobs where everyone gets a text on their phone and meets up at some shop, restaurant or other building ...
... maybe the Mature runners one, then we could offer to raise money for their zimmer frames next ;-)
(sorry just making the most of my last 3 months as a non-vet!)
Only just found this thread, thanks to Running Monkey who mentioned it on the GNR 2006 thread. Wow, that's a lot of money in a very short time.
Would agree that RW should put something in the magazine but that would only reach their readership (i.e. runners) who probably use the website too. Might not a non-running related publication like the story for the 'human interest' factor (I know nothing about media but would suggest Mick & Phil's local paper would be interested). Where's a journalist when you need one? ;-)
I just got a pranging from RW for bombing other threads with this. So don't do it. Ever ever ever. Really. Don't. They'll tell you off. You'll be sent to the naughty step. Bed with no supper. That sort of thing.
Oh dear. I randomly pasted the text into a beginner's thread. Surely it's okay, though, to just kind of bring it up in conversation? Something like 'yes, that injury sounds painful and talking of which have you seen the thread on general?' ;-)
The "editorial guys" have been informed of the appeal, so hopefully they will decide to feature the appeal in the magazine, and on the home page of the site. If they did the latter, they'd have the money for the chair before the next issue of the magazine. Job done.
I e-mailed them a week ago asking what we could and couldn't do. Still waiting to hear. We wanted to make sure we did this all properly and didn't upset anyone.
I'm just glad that Biastai took the bull by the horns and started this thread!

Here's the text you shouldn't paste everywhere.
I've mentioned this thread on my Copenhagen thread (which is where I mostly reside in forumland). But I think that is the best we can do.
That's how I found the thread.
