Used mine for (itbs lateral knee pain) the first time yesterday ...... excruciating!
Does anyone know if they can be used daily or if I should leave a day or two between the suffering?
Cheers ... Simon.
I've been using it daily at the gym, I believe that if there is no pain, there isnt a problem. There are several clips on youtube.
Rob.
there is pain - plenty of it, hence the caution
there seems to be conflicting comments online as to suffer daily or every 2-3 daysMy physio said it's ok to use them every day, and she also told me to make sure to use it after a run. I use it daily and it hurts like a mofo, but it really, really works.
I think my downstairs neighbour must think I'm having lots of exciting sex because of the daily sounds of me rolling around the living room floor groaning and squealing and swearing...
I use a swim noodle bought in poundland
that's okay then thought you;d been rippied off for a pound
Saw my physio today - she recommends I use the roller daily if I can an not just ITB but calves, quads, glutes and IFL.
Ouch.
physio also suggested one of these to get me running again soon:
Pro-Tec ITB knee compression band
anyone else experience of these (or similar such as the £19 Mueller strap)
?
Foam rollers on IT band are the most painful thing ever but really does work (and saves money in the long run).
MIne was brought at TCR show for £30 .

Great to use on gluts, hamstrings and calves.
using the roller regularly now, pain slightly less excruciating than at first!
I bought this one:

It's quite big though, could just as well use the cheaper half-length one I think but I guess you need the longer one for some stuff to do with the back should the need arise.
Doing quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes and possibly TFL (I say possibly since not sure where it precisely is!) . Feel that it's doing me good, have the Mueller knee strap and going to try a 2 mile run today.
