I can't remember whether it was for the T&G or Race for Life last year but the park & ride was free if you showed your race number. Unfortunately, I had to pull up at 7k last year due to injury and don't think I'll be racing again this year - I'm doing the MoonWalk the night before and we're not due to finish until the wee hours of Sunday morning; somehow a power nap on the bus back from London in time for this race just doesn't appeal! I'll be wimping out and doing the Charndon 5k on the Tuesday instead! Good luck to you all. by the way, there is another thread somewhere on this site for Runners World bods in Oxfordshire who fancy getting together for a drink or 2 every now and again. Have to admit I haven't been to 1 yet but the organiser assures me it's worth it!
Much better than last, thanks! Have managed to do a bit of hill training and speed work, both sadly lacking last year (not too much, mind, but at least I've done some!). And have done more long runs and more races than last year.
Not that this will necessarily translate into an improved time, of course!!
I'm just looking forward to enjoying the day and hopefully this year I might take in some of the surroundings - failed to notice the London Eye, Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace last year!!!
A quick tip on the Park & Rides, folks, from a local: allow PLENTY of time to get in to town on the day of the race. There was some congestion last year and some runners cut it very fine to get to the start line!
Hi, Was thinking of doing this run but only took part in my first 10K earlier this year in Lincoln. I was looking for a similar size and standard of race can anyone recommend this?
Got my race pack - it says the start is in Fyfield Road to the North of the Parks. Also noticed that we seem to cover one stretch 3 times - could be confusing. 1st time going outward then twice going back the opposite way.
I am looking for somewhere to stay and wanted to find somewhere as close to the start as possible but on the site i have looked at it never had any details
Hi Julian. Gloucester Green bus station is about 1 mile from the race start. Oxford Rail Station is about 1.5 miles. There are city buses which go up Banbury Road that would drop you nearer, though from the Rail Station I think you would probably need 2 buses which could be more hassle than it's worth (or get a cab from either) a gentle stroll could be the answer.

Or am I getting mixed up with something else?
Hopefully see you at the T&G already meant to be doing a 10k the week after but maybe I can manage 2!
See you there!
Oxford has the highest rate of parking tickets issues in a recent Sunday Times survey...you have been warned!

Evening, TMW. How are you?
How is your training for London this year?

My 2nd T&G this year. Last year was really good.

I don't know what Lincoln is like, but this is a really nice race. Friendly, starts and finishes in the park and Oxford is just lovely.
Go on, do it, Midds!
Go on, go for it. You know you want to....
