I did the 15 2 years ago, it is challenging but beautiful. Yhe food supplied was great - iced buns and melon!! The marshals were good too. I am doing the 8 (less fit this year) so have a great day - and mind those hills. Good luck
I'm down for the 15 at the moment...though that turn off at 8 miles is going to seem very tempting. I've got a number for this already somewhere but can't remember what it is!
<dreams of a 45 minute 10k then wakes up to reality with a start>
Hi Birdypie, I agree, if it's a hot day it will take a fair amount of willpower not to do the short route! I'm doing the Bewl 15 (which is actually 14.2 miles) this weekend but that is on the flat so won't be nearly as bad as Rottingdean.
I thought I was doing this as one of my long runs for Abingdon, but it seems I'm going for a sub 45 at Elmbridge. Very touched at your faith in my ability Snoop, 45 mins LOL!
First signs of panic setting in this morning. Not training this weekend as on a course so have two weekends to get somewhere near 15 miles ahead of this.
No walking allowed for forumites, Birdypie! I've got the Bewl 15 (which is supposed to be 14.2 actually?!!!!!!) this weekend and they're predicting 30 degrees ;-)))) Enjoy your course.
Is anyone doing (or has done) the full marathon? If so, do you have any idea how it compares for severity to the Beachy Head/Steyning Stinger/3 Forts marathons?
Thanks Snoop Dogg. I got the route card though today and seem to have run all of it in races or in training, but can't believe it adds up to 26 miles - it looks more like 36! And Kingston Ridge at about 21 miles? After the North Face, Itford Hill & Caburn? In 90 degree heat? Blimey.
I'm doing this (the 15 miler) as part of my build up to Beachy Head; so if you see no. 1083 please feel free to say hello...good luck to all those taking part.
doesn't look like its going to get any cooler before the weekend!! My toe is getting a bit better - managed a little treadmill run on Saturday. I'm going to try it out on the roads on Tuesday and see if maybe I can run/walk round the 8...
Hi Birdypie, I'm too hot by far. At least this starts nice and early in the morning. Hope your toe gets better quickly but don't push your luck with it.
Yeah - pushed my luck on Tuesday redhead. Went for a run in greenwich park. Was ok but toe was sore again yesterday morning so I think that's game over. Going to do the ice ibruprofen then for the next couple of days. might just do the 8 mile as a walk instead.
Should be at the start though - my pal who is definitely still running has short blonde peroxide hair and will be in an eltham joggers vest. I'll be the tall blonde looking slightly miffed - do come over and say hi! I've never been to a race start where I've not been taking part....its going to be an interesting experience. Just have to focus now on mending and getting myself fit in time for Beachy Horror
<<gulp>>
Hopefully will be a bit cooler on Sunday Tiger....must be ice creams at the finish surely?!
Hello, phew what a scorcher! That was a warm one. I achieved a personal worst but forgot to check the time at the end. Does anyone know if it's possible to get hold of the results, I'm kind of interested to know what my PW actually is?

I believe she will be doing the Elmbridge 10k - something about breaking 45 mins for a pb (dontcha find pb stalking a bit tedious?)
fancy meeting you here redhead

Whoops.
Still...we can walk right?!!
*BITES NAILS IN ANTICIPATION*
lots of flattish bits, but with a few short steep bits as well, where you'll know you're on a gradient.
quite a bit of shade too, but with a few exposed bits - better put on the Factor 15.

Hope it isn't a hot day as I was really pathetic in the Bewl 15 yesterday and did my slowest race ever!
Both have similarities - fabbo views, fabbo food at the feeding stations AND fabbo hills (if you like steep gradients!)
really must do some training this week but all I want to do is go to the pool and swim!
Best wishes - Raymond

Hi Raymond, please do come and say hello.
I am still vaguely hoping for a rooney style recovery in time for the race but having walked in to work today I think its a bit unlikely...
....will keep taking the 'brufen though in hope of a miracle...
Absolutely gutted...all that bliddy hill work!!!
((
I will probably come down to Brighton anyway though so whatever will hopefully be at the start to say hi...
how is everyone else doing?
