Can anyone tell me where this race starts from? I'd like a postcode for the sports & social club if it has one! And is there plenty of parking? Thanks.
Parking is in the field next door so more than plenty.
can't help with a postcode for the social club itself but the road it's off is The Bourne (i think) and postcodes for houses along there seem to be OX15 5P?
Thanks for this - I have found The Bourne on a map and should be able to find it from there! I got a postcode for the centre from a web directory and this put it way out of the village. Hope to see you there if you are taking part MOAT.
it is pretty easy to find once you've found Hook Norton so you should be ok Feet. i'm undecided about taking part but will be there to support clubmates if not (enjoying a pint of the local probably - it does come highly recommended!)
I'm hoping for an hour too, but may struggle as have only just ran 4 miles without stopping! I'll give it a shot - you have made me feel better Joanne! Not the only one.
I ran my first 4 miles on Friday! I agree with you about the first 10 minutes, I don't enjoy at all. And then suddenly you find your pace and your away. Have you entered yet or waiting for the day?
wes, I ran it last year, 2 laps, mostly flat with a couple of slight inclines...challenging at most but definately not hilly. start of in a residential street then work your way out of hook norton through glorious countryside, back into hook norton, around once more then a "sprint Finish" along the home straight onto the sports field. A really good little race, well organised and well attended.
Gogster, You make it sound like a really good race and hopefully lots of people will enter, but as for well organised so far I'm not convinced?. The race is this sunday and yet no number has arrived. I even checked my e-mail to confirm that I had confirmation I entered and that I hadn't just gone mad. thankfully I've not gone mad yet. If anyone out there has got there number let me know and I can panic again!!!
I received an email Stratford Owl confirming I'm in and that race numbers can be collected on the day from 09.00. Perhaps you could try emailing them; enquries@hooknortonharriers.org????? I hope I have not set you off again! L.

hope that helps a bit
Hope to see you there if you are taking part MOAT.
the only downside was finishing to find my supporters sat in the social club enjoying a pint of the old hooky.

This will be my first race back from injury, so doubt I will be going full tilt.
take care and see you all there
good course for spectators though - assuming you can get them out of the social club )
This will be my first time!! and looking around the hour mark which isn't quick by any standard?
Starting to make me think again about entering now!!
It's surprising how much the mileage can increase when you don't think about it!!
Once I get through the first 10 minutes (which I always feel like I'm dying in!!), everything doesn't feel so bad...
Have to admit - my little legs start to feel heavy after 35-40 mins though still!!
Drop me a line - I'm happy to meet up for a run and a gossip and a bit of inspiration if you need it Linda!!
apologies!!
If I waited until the day I'd never do it...
some excuse like, the wind blowing the wrong direction etc would be used by ME!!!
;o)
Give us a shout nearer the date and we can struggle together.
TTFN.
I'm a bit concerned it's on Sunday - and I haven't heard anything........
Anyone else????
If anyone out there has got there number let me know and I can panic again!!!
I too am still waiting for a number, am presuming that its turn up and collect as I booked on line.
Thats if I turn up, am having problems with legs at the mo, if I do run it will be a slow one for me.
Take care and hopefully see you all on Sun, (If I do run I will be in mostly white with a red bandana like a pirate)
