glad to see cath post earlier was going to email to see how she was doing
hugs hippo - its post w/e blues or marathon withdrawal !!
WW what a cute little boy you were !!
just back from the gym - well an hour or so ago - had a gentle 10k warm up on the bike (2omin) and then 2000k on the rower (-12min) and some upper body work then 20mins on the sunbed (i know but...) and then swam for 20 mins but it got too congested so retired to the jacuzzi for 20 mins and then finished in the sauna - nice easy recovery sess! did nt risk tready - feet back to normal but hips still a bit stiff
got to go and check for phone messages but back later
I held my gyms ladies record on the rower for 2000m for about 2 weeks,8 mins 43 secs. Then some 24 year old bimbette beats me by blooming 4 secs. That record WILL fall whilst I'm none impact.
JJ feeling her age rant over so I'm off to bed :-)
ive been looking at events today - seeing what the walk the walk peeps were doing - Flora light 3milers in London /brum and GNR and i think FLM - i am very tempted to think about doing GNR if i put the serious training in - but i reckon 10ks and 5 milers might be better starting points!
I'm getting excited - our provisional London itinerary for the weekend is all planned out and Ivor and Angelmouse are gratifyingly enthusiastic though Mr V-rap thinks that taking them to a nice hotel is casting pearls before swine and they'd be just as happy in a £50 B&B. I challenged him to find a £50 B&B in London. Even the youth hostels would cost more than that for three of us, and they don't do smoked trout for breakfast.
Just over half an hour before I have to go on a nil-by-mouth regime. The old fossils in the surgical unit I'm going to haven't caught up with the evidence that people having operations can safely drink water right up until the fentanyl goes into the vein. I might have a glass or two of tap-juice at about 6am anyway, otherwise I shall shrivel up into a raisin.
Just poped in to say thanks for all the nice thoughts!
Both mother and baby are home and have had a good first 24 hours, a little grizzly this evening...but the baby has been fine :-) I'm looking forward to a nice disturbed nights sleep!
