Yes! I took myself up to Regents Park and ran a full 6 miles in and around the park.I wasn't the only one who thought the park would be a good place to run in last night - it was mobbed with runners! Anyway - pleased I went- really enjoyed it though pushed myself too far in the last 2 miles and groin strain is back!
Any advice on the split of a marathon ? In my only one to date ( Robin Hood) I ran the first half in 2.05 (easy) and then fell apart for 2.37 in the second. Yet running guides suggest aiming for a negative split??
regent's park on a tuesday evening at 7pm is where the niketown run goes - and if you run clockwise, you end up sidestepping about a hundred runners going in the opposit eidrection.
has happened to me loads of times
CHEEKY - i'm hoping that you did a fast time for the mara given your tons of long run training....
interestingly, NR, regents park is my regular trainnig ground pre-marathon - you never know we might meet up one rainy lunchtime in february.
also the 396 metre track on the north side (stupid distance!!) is good for speed session training.
and what's more, if you're really lucky you can see the runners world editorial team going out for a run in RP on certain lunchtimes, as they work just round the corner from me in chandos street!!
wow - really ineresting eh?
also see too much detail just posted by me on the BB 1/2 thread
Thing is I wouldn't recognise either of you if I saw you! Cant make out what you look like from the pictures! As for running Regents Park, the outside gets a bit dull - but inside so much going on that you dont notice the miles...see you there soon!
Have an on-going issue with the "adductor" muscle (much more feminine way of putting groin strain) so will be running...but slow! I'll post number tomorrow as well
the thing is. that we all swap numbers and then no-one has a bloody clue what they were when you actually turn up at the start, cos we just said "yeah, great" when they were posted......
been there seen the movie
at least this time we have a team vest, a clanger and a knee support to look for !!!
Fat Turkey, Well! It goes something like this....I was aiming for a 3.30 marathon, got to 13 miles, RW pacers behind me, then in front of me, heart rate too high, slowed it down, made 3.42 but enjoyed the whole race..WHAT A CRACKING RUN! Next year will be the 3.30!..If you can't hit your target time, then enjoy, that's my view!
