Very healthy and happy thanks Nick!...well appart from me and my little hangover I've had 2 nights out with the lads this week....it was never this good before the baby
My step children did GCSEs in the late 80s Ofcourse there is only a FEW years between me and them (now creeping early 30s)...
O levels WEREN'T harder were they? It's just that now there is huge opportunity for vastly increased knowledge ... so more students pass
but they've changed the grading, was A-E + O now just A, B, C that count for "pass" (only it's not PC to say that) so my "B" in Human Bio and my "A" in Eng Lit are both "A"s now!!
dont worry it's the only "A" I got
Not sure about the Pure Maths though - apparantly they dont do GEOMETRY anymore
Hmmm. If I could get even reasonably good at swimming....
I've toyed with the idea of the Arran half, although the bike leg is hilly. The attraction is that its a pool swim. Just a dream really, I doubt I'll ever be fit enough.
WW - excellent swim!! - that is the hardest part for me - and reason I could not do Ironman YET!! have taught myself to crawl in last two years - had good effect on my then 8 yr old watching Mum learning a new thing
Hiyah Pashka...not sure if we have been formely introduced before...>>>BBB strides over and shakes paskas hand vigorously<<< (I would have done the kissing cheeks thing but I allways go red faced and mess it up!)
I think O'levels became GCSE's the year after I left secondary school 1988 - correct me if I'm wrong someone (lots of teachers lurking in the corners here)
Best tri swim: 750m - 23mins, so 1.9k = 1 hour-ish Average speed on training cycles: 15mph, so 56 miles = 4 hours ish Best half marathon = 2hours22mins
That totals around 7.5 hours, without taking into account the fact I'd be starting the bike and run leg knackered from the last bit.
Need a good few months injury free, consistent training before thinking about it seriously.
Ah a TRI on telly - I jumped for joy when they put the Triathlon in the Olympics (am I a sad case??!!) them having been so rude about it and triathletes - my hero(ine)s ALL
It takes me 30+ secs to go 25m with a pull buoy, then I stop and drink some water!!have usually cycled quite a way first, so enjoy using my arms and leave the legs ...
er, definite help needed poolside on technique
WW - your swim was over TWICE as fast as my little 25m pace - see it's hopeless
I should manage the run after the bike as I try and do that on a long session every month or so (session total 5 hrs plus - run bike run) haven't done it since March though cos of series of 4 marathons just completed, and 2:03 in the Plymouth Half a few wks ago

Hi everyone else, still pretty busy but my house completed yesterday at last. Off to the bank this lunchtime to check the moneys gone in.
Ta Ta til later
This state school lark is a bargin !!!
I have just bought an entire uniform for less than one of her old cardies would cost :-)
And they get snacks provided for free !!!
The good news is that her new school dress is PINK :-)
I'm having a pasty for lunch then it back to healthy low fat for me :-)
Hi all.
Enjoy summer, while we've got it.
Went with the 2 lads I'm helping towards there first Tri
Ended up doing 3 x 500m with 60 secs in about 30mins
These things always start with "just out of curiousity" next thing you know you've entered!

They keep reclassifying things but when I did mine whilst you were graded A - E, only grades A - C were counted as passes.
Swimming is 75% technique - get yorself along to a few improvers or masters lessons
Go for it
Live the dream

The Great Welsh Tri is on BBC on Saturday lunch time
Then again I allways was rubbish at names but I never forget a face....not much call for that here!
A, B, C, D, E, O, = PASS
F, G, H, = FAIL
'A' Levels were the same - except if you only got the 'O' it was = to an 'O' level pass

Happy birthday Smitch. Mwah Mwah
Thats it really. Sorting out some courses
to do (painfully expensive ones), so that
I can finish this unemployed lark sooner
rather than later.
Off now, to make lunch.
