What if we kind of manipulate the truth a little? Would that be OK?
Trouble is, we've got to record the facts before we hit the Guinness. And as by the latest estimate that'll be within 30 minutes of finishing (based on the notion that the nearest bars to the finish will be full) we won't have much time to record the truth before a degree of "polishing" begins.
What we'll probably end up with is lots of differing accounts and we'll offer a prize to whoever guesses which is the correct one.
Like a sock worn in the race - you know, really give an incentive!
Better get out of here - these ramblings should be in one of the Dub threads.
Well Guys, on behalf of all the crazy Dubliners who will be keeping you company for 26.2 miles a warm welcome to Dublin.
For those who have run Dublin before, a quick note, if you dont allready know, there is a change to the route this year check www.dublincitymarathon.ie for a course map.
The good thing is that this year the last mile or two is through the centre of town which will bring out the crowds to support.
My apologies to those who I haven’t found – sadly the results don’t feature our proper forum names :-)please add them to the thread so we know how you got on too.

BTW - the race is on Monday - it's a Bank Holiday in Ireland, and we're drifting back in dribs and drabs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
But before we come home I'm sure we'll have agreed on a story to tell you all ;-)
