This thread has really sped up in the last few days - its as if there is a marathon happening next week...heehee
The lurgy seems to be easing off, BK you said that the energy drinks are in cups, does anyone know if water is cups or bottles? For the record I use Hi Five gels and find them the most palatable, not too sweet and not thick, easy to take with little or even no water. Citrus burst is best flavaaaa!
There are def no pacers - I mailed the organisers earlier in teh year (and even offered to be one myself, in a rare fit of niceness) but got a fairly clear "nope" back from them.
Oh how i love physio's!!!!!!!! Went to see mine this evening who (a) gave me the all clear to run & (b) diagnosed ALL my ailments and claimed that there was a single easy cure!! <just what i like to hear>
Will not go into boring technicalities but basically I run gammy and i just need to do a couple of specialist stretches to align my feet properly to stop the ankle and knee niggles - dont you just love em???????
had a rather painful massage, but feel great and raring to go now - could somebody please print off this posting and pass it to me at mile 16!!!!!!
Keeping an eye on the weather too, but i prefer to run in the rain <light drizzle of course!>
NR - Nope. Though I am used to it. Ironically though, very little of my training for this was done in the wet and I did my training pretty much as prescribed from my book. I was a very lucky mouse.
Liam - easily. We'll all get even chattier and more people will post in the last few days.
sigh, was hoping to wear my vest cos it's got my name on it, and I don't want to sacrifice another top by writing on it and making it unwearable outside of marathon situations...... so I'm hoping for about 14 degrees, but looks like I'm out of luck.
I will be arriving at the airport @11.05am Sunday. I'm not sure if you have room or the times co-inside but if pos I would be very grateful for a lift please.
B K- Ive emailed My mobile No and thanks for including me.
I will be running in dark blue shorts white vest with dark blue vertical sections under the arms, If I get time might have name printed on.
I decided that I must sort out flights and hotel today so Just a normal 8 hour day for me and flights and hotel now booked that feels much better now, I might even get an early night .
P S- good to hear the physio gave you the all clear and you are raring to go.
DTB - I'm chancing a last outing in quite 'summery' kit and will be supplementing it with a binbag. I did this last week over here when it was quite chilly and just ran in the binbag until I warmed up.
Woody - Not a problem - Email me flight details and arrival time - I'm picking up Mouse and Dark Vader on Sunday - You are more than welcome to join the crew
8000 posts before the race? We might be on 8000 posts before tomorrow at this rate.
I'll be wearing pretty much what my little pic at the side is wearing. Hopefully I'll look a little bit taller though. I think we're definitely in glove wearing territory even though I'll still be wearing a t-shirt and shorts. It's amazing how much of a difference warm hands can make.
hmm....yes gloves might be a plan. Might see if vest will go over the top of one of my technical tees just in case. Good worrying about this, stops me worrying about the actual running thing, or my painful leggy thing...
As a west of scotland person running in the rain is nae bother to me, I will be sticking to white tank and black shorts, standard womens ronhill running kit. Like the gloves suggestion though, and if it is teeming down will be forced into wearing the ultra unflattering but most excellent white baseball cap... where are we now, 140 to go? Pink Shoes, nice to hear a success story after others having to withdraw - go girl!
yeah, rain is fine, but I remember one road that was windy and cold last year, when the day was otherwise perfect - was a bit of a wind tunnel, I kept trying to find large runners to hide behind!
That must make me a proper wussy southerner (or easterner, if there is such a term) my delimea will be fleece hat or running hat and then there will be two choices of each of those options.

Barry - thanks for sorting restaurant. YHM.
I know a bit late in the day for this question, and haven't read all the way back, but I'm assuming there's no pacers for this event?
Wow

Barry have mailed you contact info for me.
Hope it doesn't rain on Monday, I don't do rain.
Wow you go away for a moment and suddenly have lots of new phone numbers. Cheers guys.
ITB - where are you staying? I'm staying in Temple Bar so if it's not too far away from there then I don't mind picking up your number.
MHM - in 2004 water was in 250ml bottles. I'm also fairly certain I have read somewhere that water is in bottles again this year.
daz1927 - don't think there are pacers. I've not read anything on the site about them and I don't think anyone on here has mentioned them.
BK - My +2 have confirmed for Sunday meal (Tuck Shop Team & Management).

Barry - excellent organising. Cheers mate.
Pink Shoes - glad you are sorted.
Mouse - don't worry about rain. Was going to say we are Welsh and used to it but it doesn't apply to you does it?!!!

Looks like I'll be wearing the same gear as last year! (but black shorts this time, have retired the unflattering shiny grey ones)
