JJ well done on the 10k - that's fab! I'll be happy if I can get just below 60 mins at Brighton but I'll need a strong wind behind me!
Finally dragged my lazy a@@e to the gym this afternoon and did 10k on the treadmill. Glad I didn't do an outdoor run - a huge tree came down on someone's car just down the road. Thankfully the occupants were OK but the car bonnet was squashed right down. There's debris all over the place here. Had to struggle against the wind all the way there and back but felt virtuous for doing it.
EP get running kit for Christmas so you'll look and feel good.
Just popped in to say Hi to everyone. Hope you all have had a good weekend diet and running wise. I've had a disaster diet wise but thats my own fault. Too much wine and too much food. Had an awful run today. I haven't got the excuse of the weather because here in Fife it wasn't bad. In fact the sun came out. Went out for 55 mins but I had to walk so much of it I can't say it was a run. I had my nice new shoes on but my legs felt like they were running in a pair of sand shoes and I was puffing like a steam train the whole time. Have come to the serious conclusion that you can't run when so overweight. Joining Slimming World on Thursday. Guess who is going to be bringing up the rear in Brighton. Moan over. I just feel a bit down. Thanks for listening. Take care.
trouble wit rewards is that they have to be high caffeine, high fat and high sugar to tast good. Tried one of those muesli bars once - like eating compost!
Speedy G Now look here You had a bad run So what You went out, more than most would do And you wont be last at brighton, reember the partys at the back Ill be walking when i have to , if its good enough for the Penguin---
Thanks benz Guess everyone has bad days. Its just I went out in a really positive frame of mind and suppose I got really disappointed. I look forward to joining the party. As for the diet I have been trying Weight Watchers but can't get to gripes with it and I know that I lost 2.1/2 stone several years ago with slimming world (its all back on mind you) so am going back. As the Penquin says "Waddle on Friends" I'll take walks as and when until fitter.
At least your exercising id rather be fat and fit if you smoked youd probably lose weight, but thats crazy i think dieting may be as well, though at least sliiming world lets you eat
Hey stop that Speedy G! When I started running the gym staff thought they'd have to reinforce the floor - I wobbled and spluttered and made really heavy footfalls. People used to stare as well, probably because they thought I would have a heart attack! - the stares I get now are because I'm doing fartleks or intervals and I keep on running when others give up. If I can do it, you can too. Don't be put off by being large, everyone on here is large or has been large so we all understand. Keep at it and the weight will come off. Just don't give up.

Jog slowly, run/walk if you feel you should, but don't think that you have to walk until you're under some mythical "ideal weight"!
It just doesn't work like that!
You want to lose weight - running is one of the best ways to do it!
keep at it
Psi, whereabouts are you?
only difference is that it daoesnt wobble
Be FIT, thats what counts
