I made the most sickly thing in existence yesterday - Malteser Traybake. Although the only "bake" that's involved is using a baking tray - you don't cook the thing. It involves milk chocolate, Maltesers, golden syrup, butter and crushed digestive biscuits. Melt choc, butter & syrup, mix in biscuits & maltesers, spread in tray or swiss roll tin, chill in fridge. It really is *too* sweet - we can only manage to eat tiny chunks.
Mister W - if I never see another Malteser in my life, it will be too soon. I think I'm going to have to take the stuff to work on Monday to get rid of it. At the rate we are managing, it'll last a month.

Just had an e-mail from the ISIHAC list to which I subscribe - Humphrey Lyttleton is in hospital having an op on an aortic aneurism. Hope he's OK.
ah fleur was just looking at a flier for a show by him and questioning how old he must be
87 I think. He was in fine fettle when we saw the ISIHAC show in Buxton last month. Hope he gets well soon.
