Only 4 weeks. Jeez - Derwentwater will be fecking cold. Lakes local to me (in the Peaks) are running at about 6degrees at the moment - not much time to warm up!
Dave/Ste/anyone else - best of luck tomorrow for this one. The forecast ain't too bad - 13deg and a bit breezy.
My first OW swim this year . I'm trying a neoprene hat covering my ears to try to avoid the usual chunders - I'll be the one looking like a black condom.
What a great event. My first OW swim tri and I'm not sure I'll ever do a better event! The organisation, marshalling etc. was top class, and the location absolutely stunning.
Definately one for next year. Though I think I'll have to get entered early once word gets round how good it is!!
Loved this one - the organisers really know how to put on a good show, and the course is superb - exactly like a mountain tri should be. A fine baby brother to Helvellyn.
Yep, best i can do from all those pictures is the top of my silver swim cap and a side view of my nose (hard to miss!) in picture 107! ................. fame passes by again without stopping

I'm signed up and it's my first race with an open water swim.
Nervous doesn't really cover how I'll be feeling on the day .... especially if it is a dive-in start !!!
No-one else then?

The bike is a reasonably flat road route, the run is a 6.3 mile '8km' fell run over Walla Crag.
Looks fun.
