this can be quite a challenging event especially if the weather is bad -as it often is. You are very exposed on the front and first 5m is mostly uphill. there is another unwelcome uphill at 9m before the final run back along the prom. This will be the seventh or eighth time I have done it so it can't be that bad can it? There is no fun run
I'm thinking about it but that last bit of info has dampened my enthusiasm!!! This will be my first 10 mile. I suppose it will be a personal best whatever!!! Maybe I could plod. Does anyone else do 10 minute miles on the flat or will I be running on my own?
This was the second race I ran last year in preparation for London (hadn't done much running before only on the treadmill) its great and definitely fast and flat (the minor hills are very small). I am doing this again and as its my home town I get some great support from family.
I since went on to do London and then more recently the Amsterdam Marathon knocking 15 minutes off.
definitley a P.B COURSE I've done it 9 or10 times . Even though its not completly flat(climbs at 4.5+9miles)it still produces fast times ,WEATHER PERMITTING
See you all on Sunday - weather is predicted to be awful!! I'm number 955, Biddulph Running Club - please speak to me! Shall we all walk on the prom afterwards with an icecream? Best of luck,
can anyone tell me if the course is likely to be flooded atall? I've got a fair journey to get there and don't want to go if there is a risk of cancellation!
I'm an hour's drive away in merseyside and today is mild, no wind, and drizzly. llandudno is famous for it's icy cold winds coming in off the sea but I don't think there will be any reason to call it off. See you there!
It didn't go up the Great Orme (thank God...just felt like it! no, only joking!), but there were a couple of hills... just like you nice people warned me. the weather was glorious and I finished in 1hr 40 mins, which I'm very pleased with. Met up with Di (incredible really, knowing the numbers there). Hope you were pleased with your run, Di. Nice to say hello. Did you get your ice-cream afterwards? Only problem is my calf muscles are giving me a lot of jip. Is this why they say 2increase your mileage by 1o% a week?. Still, I'll live. Lovely course, friendly people, a good day all round.
The whole family enjoyed the day out in Llandudno today. Although I was nowhere near winning any prizes I did have a good run (by my standards). Thumbs up to the organisers.
Does anybody know if the results are available on a web site somewhere?
Lovely to speak to you in the line-up. Really enjoyed the race - great weather, perhaps a little too hot! Can't complain for November, can we? No, no-one bought me an icecream - miserable lot!! Very happy with 1:16:06. See you next year?
What a great day out, number 286, had the shades, but forgot the sun cream. Well done Llandudno. Even my wife and little girl thought it was a great event and they were only watching.
