PSC - I asked Oxy/Smiffy/anybody on another thread to start a Moonlight thread but the lazy bastids haven't done it yet, so I may have to. Good help is *so( hard to find !
that's a classic track. Got it on one of my Euphoria CDs.
It wasn't insomnia - it was a coughing fit! Man Flu!! Been to the Doc this morning and now got a course of antibiotics so hopefully after 48 hours they will start to do their stuff and I will be back to normal sleep!
LOL Seren.... Have a look at the Cyclosportive website.. covers the whole UK. Some good ones in Wales like this one, 24 May - Gran Fondo plenty more too....
Yes a very enjoyable ride, and beginning of May, so perfect time to really get your teeth into a big tough ride. Im going just to watch holly swear her way round it!
Chiltern (long route) is bang on the schedule for IMCH too .... I'm in! I presume there won't be a problem riding a TT bike? Not sure I would want to drag my sorry arse over those hills on my old hack bike...
You ride a tt bike if you want PSC, I will ride a roadie and laugh at you. There is nothing that says you cant ride a TT bike, but the profile says you should think twice. TT bikes are not really all that for climbing all day, and trust me, there are some nasty hills at Chiltern.
erm.... yes the profile is interesting! 2400m of climbing might be better done on a roadie. Perhaps I need a new lightweight carbon bling bling roadie too (God my missus would shoot me if I suggested that)!!
The only way you can rediscover the form from the year dot when you were training, is by, and bare with me on this, training.
Thats the thing you do when you arent racing that makes you fitter, imagine it as a practice race, without people around you racing.
Cos you see Barlos, and heres the rub, IMEccentric will have been training, so he wont have got much worse, whereas you havnt, and by your own admission have.
To paraphrase an esteemed forumite .....
If you want to get better on the bike , bike lots.
I should point out that in Bala you overtook me only to collapse mewling in T2 where I recorded 5.20 for the race and had a nice sit in the lake a freshen up and a beer before obviously raucously cheering your shambolic finish
Comments
did anyone (Oxy/Smithy/??) start a Moonlight thread - I've looked and "searched" with no joy.....
As I'm up, and bored..... was looking at various "other" rides that may appeal to the SouthEast/South of England Ride Group.
1 Feb - this one
8 Mar - Kent Invicta Grimpeur 100km
4 May - San Fairy Ann CC - 73 mile Cyclo Sportive starts Marden (site not up yet)
13 April - London Phoenix Easter Reliability Ride 113k
19 April -<a href="http://www.cyclosport.org/article.aspx?id=445&eventid=375" id="pageurl"> North Cornwall Tor - Sunday 19 April 2009</a>
31 May - Chiltern 100 (171km, 102km, 84km routes)
21 Jun - Circuit of the Cotswolds (100 or 70 miles)
Plenty of others but many of them are up north so they are probably flat

I was talking to Holly about the Chiltern 100 the other day, think we both said that we would be back again!
Tis lumpy, but is a good one to do, with not a bad goodie bag for a sportive as well.

Your call.......
PSC, you'll be fine on the TT
<<Walks off again shaking head, and laughing>>
I was thinking of doing just that with my P3 if the need ever arises to buy a P4.
That said I think id rather get a soloist as a 2nd hack bike and wait for inevitable P5 in 3-4 years
Im hoping to rediscover the form from the day I overtook you at Bala in 2006..
Be afraid
