I think I'm too caught up with it myself to bother converting the unenlightened.
Speaking of which number 70 is really doing my fruit at the moment.
It's the one with the three sums and the word 'the'. I trying to get a word from the first sum and I've found 5 combinations that work mathmatically but make no sense.
Can just ask, am I on the right lines? Am I supposed to be looking for one 7 letter word from the first sum?
I've worked out that 71 is a griddler (never seen one before until now) but I'm a bit confused as to the numbers at the top of the columns. They seem to be arranged differently to the example griddlers i've found, so I'm not sure what order they are supposed to go in.
For example the third column has 215 written above it so, going from top to bottom, should there be 2 then 1 then 5 or 5 then 1 then 2?
oh this was fun. I noticed a pattern with the top numbers. Have a look at them. You can then half the work that you have to do. I then used a system of deduction to do it.

I am eagerly awaiting my Nintendo DS. Whilst I am waiting, I am finding myself looking for secret riddles in phone numbers and number plates.
I am also running more
LOL!!
I am trying to think of willing victims!
Ooh Meglet you are evil.
Must admit though, I have also managed to nab a few victims as well.
Mornin' all.
Hmm, I've only passed this on to my g/f so far. I must try harder to spread the joy!

Oh good gravy!
Ok, thanks shimmy. Do you type in the complete riddle for your answer, as in, all 5 words then?
yep
Ah Ok, thanks for the tip Meg.
Hoo-flippin-ray
After finding 7 combinations that worked maths-wise and plenty that didn't I'm finally there. That tip really helped too!
Thanks to you both for your help, i'm sure I'll be back grovelling again soon
Onwards and upwards Sheddy.
What are you going to do once you are finished?
Back already!

Yeah, I think I'm thinking along the same lines as you did Shimmy, I noticed the pattern.
But as I say I'm not sure of the order for the top ones:
Like for the 3rd column from the left (and the right ) does the block of five come first or last?
Ah! so the block of 5 is nearest the bottom.
Thanks Shimmy, I really wasn't sure which way round it should be.
Don't blame me if it is wrong though. I had to really use my imagination and an hint from Crashie to solve it.
oops
But it kept him out of mischief for a bit.
Ok, as you said earlier I was letting the side down Shimmy I decided to introduce Zahada to someone else:
I can't believe he's nearly caught me up already though
Ok - i need more help. I think I am getting dimmer as I go along.
Stuck on the whole 48/49/50/a/b thing. Think I have the relevant letters except
Point JIM KL. do you point left for a letter or right for some punctuation?
and the a & 2 refered to in 50a/b - are these as they are or do i do something with them?
Is it an anagram?
You point left.
and the a & 2 are ones you will need to make the next word
