Only just caught up with this thread - did see it start.
As the organisers for Disability Snowsport I can say that it is fully OK for runners to raise money for other charities - the profits from the race go to Disability Snowsport and you are encouraged to raise money for the charity but if you have a more personal cause to support then no one will be upset if you support it.
You get to keep the santa suits at the end - you can use them again three week later! Some people bring scissors to lop off the bottom of the trousers.
I've just got my race number for this one - It's looks like it's gonna be brilliant fun!
All the tips about altering the santa outfit will come in handy - I've never run in fancy dress before! Let's all hope it doesn't rain - don't fancy being a soggy Santa much! Hehehe
Did this last year and it really was great fun. Try milling around and take a few photos of the changing area....its really something to behold. I'm in a minority that found the suit fitted perfectly last year ( a natural Santa I was told!!!!) but do becareful because they were not built to last, so just keep an eye on not tripping as things start to sag!!!
Hopefully the weather will be on your side this year.....It was freezing and wet last year...and with a bit of luck the van with the recovery milkshakes will be on hand.....although a bacon buttie dripping in tomato sauce would have been a better option, and it wouldnt matter if you dripped any on your suit.
Im doing a 10km Christmas Run in Ditton on Sunday, ( with the promise of a Christmas Pud in the goodie bag) so decided not to do this one too, looks like its going to be in lots of mud, so not my best trainers...
I hope you all enjoy it, its certainly a must do event, even if you do it once....and if your a medal fan last years was really nice.
It's my first Santa race, and only my second 'proper' race, the first being the British 10k run this summer. Ray's facebook group put me onto this and the site of 2000 santa's running about the park was too tempting to pass over!
Great race - disappointing to not make it onto the results table, why isn't everyone on there? I started, ran 6Km and finished in approx 25 mins. Bib number 196.
Chip was definately on my ankle at the end, although my number was hanging alongside due to poor attachment/jacket maintenance on my part!
Hey Tristan, the results of all 1622 runners are on there, you need to click on the link to the left of the list of first 5 finishers to get the full list.
That was great fun and not to be taken seriously. We had such good weather I found I was wearing too much by the end. I had a fleece on underneath so I recommend anyone doing it next year to just wear a T-shirt and jogging bottoms under your santa suit, although next year it might be snowing I suppose.
I definately recommend this as a fun charity race to get you in the Christmas spirit. We wore our suits all the way home and cheered up several people. One guy had brought bells with him - more people should do this next year and I agree it would be great to have more spectators. They could dress up too, why not?
I think I might be cursed. I did the British 10k in the summer - and ended up on 0 photos. I did the Race for Life 5k - again no photos. I have just checked under my number now and guess....0 photos. Time for an existential crisis methinks.
(and I didn't have my number obscured or anything like that)
Bar that, the race was great fun though the beard was hideous and lasted on my face for only about 2 minutes before i had to put it around my neck, I kept breathing it in!
Goosey Lucy, I don't show up for my number as my hand partially covered it, you could try searching through the photo's around your number (the photos are in order by race number), it may be a little tiresome but you may find yourself!

Hi All,
I am getting a lot of emails this morning asking for entry - the event has now reached its limit of 2000 and we can't take any more.
Hey Mike (or anyone else that might know.......)
Are Ipods ok for this race? I know some are now banning mp3 players and I was just wondering if there's any stipulation for this run?
Cheers,
less than 48hrs now, tick tock!
Hi Paul,
Since the run is in a park with no traffic we don't have any objection.
Weather forecast looks pretty good for Saturday - fingers crossed.
It's my first Santa race, and only my second 'proper' race, the first being the British 10k run this summer. Ray's facebook group put me onto this and the site of 2000 santa's running about the park was too tempting to pass over!
See you all on Saturday!
I saw the weather and all looking good
Just hope there aint ice!
Good Luck Everyone Today!
Im just about to set off for london
Just got back from the race - it was brilliant fun! Lovely weather too!
The warm up aerobics was hilarious - the sight of 2500 Santas working out to music was hard to beat!
I'm definately up for this again next year
brilliant fun - will definitely be signing up again.
well done to everyone involved. I agree with Dusty, it was so funny to see all the santas warming up!

Has anyone got any photos of the hilarious mass Santa aerobic warm-up before the race? I took some on my phone but they are dismal.
dusty.nebulosity, I don't think there are any of the warm-up, but there are quite a few photos from the race on http://www.42run.com.
GooseyLucy, check the website above, I really hope we got at least one of you
