AL, it was Ambition Events, they had a lot of bad feedback after the RAW South Africa and it resulted in a few heads rolling. Not surprisingly, there was a rather large bump as they hit the floor cos the heads were rather big in the first place
I think there is a kind of funny irony that they are now having trouble and have suspended the AE part of the company to 're-assess'
Well sort of funny seeing as I had entered a race which has been cancelled and will probably never get my money back!
The way I see it they cancelled to stop me doing it and proving what a p*ss easy thing it was and that all those who had done it the last couple of years and whined about how hard it was are just a bunch of gaylord freaks who should stick with sprint tri's and marathons.
the fountainhead by ayn rand is a great book incidentally, bit long and laboured and the politics is somewhere to the right of genghis khan, but a great book still
oxymoron...or is it Peter Keating? nope, i'm not scott ragsdale what is the interest of talking bad about fat used car salesmen who are wanna be ironmen? as the great rodney king once said: "can't we all just get along???"
Ok'ish roads in general but with a couple or three big f*ck off hills thrown in for good measure (southern Peak area). Total ascent was roughly about 3200ft. Weather was good, generally sunny, a littel rain at the end and not much wind but hey, what can I say, I'm an old, lazy, fat git
AL - we did the maths - your bike speed on crappy hilly british roads is fast enough to get round in time, so thats enough ! You wont be last in Switzerland - really.
Cougie, am gonna try fit in another 2 hours tomorrow. Reckon if I just keep plodding away at it, surely I will get better?
Plus am now really focusing on eating enough protein on my return, think my predominantly vegan eating has hampered me somewhat. So have ditched that and have been eating loads fish.
You are resting arent you ? At the start of this thread you were fast enough !
If I'm reading this right - you're cycling three days in a row ? Do remember to take the rest days ! I think protein is essential for all this training so yeah - eat that and maybe use recovery drinks if you think you need it.

lol!
I'm really not Peter Keating! But sadly I'm no Howard Roark either.
you'll have to just take my word for it when i say that i have no critisism to bring against a fat bloke who has done the MdS and is soon to become an Ironman. I just find it funny that you, cough, i mean, he, takes himself so seriously.

Back on topic, how about this then.
I've just got in from doing 50 miles at an average speed of 12.7mph (and I don't think I could have gone any faster)

al, have you worked out how much climbing you're doing in your rides?
This site is quite good and I think that the ascent calculation is pretty accurate compared to some others.
Do you know your speed on the flat?
Thanks Gertie.
Oxy yes doing Bala! My first ever tri!
I'm a 12.something er as well - we'll have to all be careful we don't end up drafting each other lol!
Unless....... would this count as drafting? Would look great all yellow and black lol.
