Wierd sort of a post. How long is a bit of string? I'm sure there are people out there for whom Asics just don't work, but I would say there must be millions out there who would disagree .....
I've had about 15 pairs over the last frew years, most of them from the Nimbus 'collection' My perception is that they were great but have since deteriorated in both quality and comfort.
My current pair are New Balance - first non-asics for 10 years.
Back to ASICS knacking ankles, it's not any particular brand that knacks knees and cankles, it's the wrong type of shoe, ie support, cushioning etc
It's not usually the wrong type of shoe, ie support, cushioning etc that knacks knees and cankles, it's the wrong type of running, ie too much, too soon, too quick, not enough recovery.
Everyone likes to blame their shoes, it's a deferral of responsibility thing - surely it can't be their own fault...
I had ASICS and did my first FLM in them in 2007. I then got more serious about running and went to get my gait analysed. I'm a neutral runner (thought I'd be an over-pronator) and the ASICS were just wrong for my feet.
I bought a pair of neutral Brooks runners and as soon as I tried them on, I knew they were the right ones for me. It amazed me how much more confortable than my old ones were.
Plus, I have quite skinny feet and ASICS make my feet look too clumpy

They don't work for me, not I guess because anything is wrong with them but for the same reason as some styles of jeans don't fit my butt.
Lots of people seem to find them fine though.
horses - courses
I've worn asics for years and years.
They suit me very well.
maybe just maybe the wrong asics shoe could cause you the problems you have suffered, but the right one would work????
as has been said by many strange post and very much a case of personal preference and /or correct shoe selection to begin with
I'm actually 6'2" thanks.
