*deep breath*
I've had my bike re-furbished - new wheels, cables, brakes, gears the works. (All thanks to a mechanic friend who I recently did a 'trade' with - I treated his back problem). She was like a brand new bike - all shiny and lovely and I'd just got back into some nice hilly routes.
Until today...
Enter Mr S - now he can't ride a bike, but is learning. I'd been with him for some test cycles around the local playing field last week. All was going well, got his balance, steering ok, doing figure of 8s etc.
So this afternoon he goes to do the same, but solo...
The result - he decided to head off the playing field onto the road - downhill. Didn't use the brakes... crashed it into a tree and then straight into the beck. Ripped tyre, paint scraped, rear brake housing smashed, cables ripped. MY new bike. Ruined
BY MY FECKING NUMPTY BASTARD HUSBAND!
He SO owes me for this...
Comments
Is he ok............ ?
crumbs
but on the bright side....
he owes you a new bike
LOL!
Cut elbow, bruised ilium, bruised quad, bit shaken up. He'll live
Dealt with his injuries... then saw my poor bike
Someone's phoning the bike shop first thing tomorrow...
True Farnie. Seen a nice Giant, so maybe....
He's just gone back to where the accident happened to look for his hat, FFS that will be way downstream by now!
Aaaaaah
You let your husband, who is learning to ride, go out on your shiny, lovely bike???
How stupid are you?
Is he still alive?
Or this
In Tammy Wynette stylee...
"My Husband got killed riding my bike, I sure do miss it"
Stoopid eejit. That's the last time he uses any bike of mine.
Annoying thing was I was going to go with him but I'd just made a cuppa and he wouldn't wait, so headed off... My last words to him, 'don't forget to use the brakes' (he'd been stopping using his foot as a brake).
Mr S (jokingly), "If I'm not back in half an hour, expect the worse" Christ, if I thought he was going on the road I'd never have let him go.
He keeps wincing too but is suffering in silence after me telling him he knows where the f*cking ice packs and brufen are.
Earlier he made curry for tea, lit some candles and opened a bottle of red so is trying to make amends
Shit!
Poor thing ..hope you can get her fixed up !
(((Siance))) I'm only just learning to ride, and after reading this I don't dare go out on any bike but the cheap one I'm learning on
Hope you can get her repaired, and if not a lovely shiny new one courtesy of Mr S!
It's funny when husbands/boyfriends are trying to make it up to you. They can't use words for some reason, the word sorry very rarely slips from their lips, they have to 'do' things.
I like to make Mr Shimms squirm. He really wants me to say, 'oh hunny, you really shouldn't, thanks, you are forgiven' but instead I just let him carry on making me cups of tea, rubbing my feet, making me cheese sarnies.
I hope you make Mr S squirm
Hope the bike makes a speedy recovery.
Like MadameO also learning but there is no way hubby would let me near his bikes - he got me a cheap one to learn on, but I'm also not allowed near the road yet, wants me to start going out on my own but not onto the road. No fun some peopel
Hope you get your new shiny bike and that hubby is ok.
My housemate threatened to ride my bike when she was pissed. She won't be doing that again.
Mr. S owes you a new bike!
Siance I hope the bike makes a speedy recovery.................
so the choices..new bike or new OH
And tell him to buy you lots of expensive things...
Bad luck (although, lesson to be learnt is never to trust a man with a girlie toy)
I like the resounding response of new bike Left new catalogue open at the sport mountain bike section on the kitchen table today as a hint.
He's taken her in for repairing - didn't go into details but confessed to trashing it. We'd only been in there the day before as he was thinking of buying one and was unsure of the frame size. Stifled smile from bloke in shop...
Best comment from Mr S, and said seriously, "I can see now why triathlons are so dangerous." I nearly snorted tea through my nose hearing that!
