The Newbridge Adrian Its not hilly at all but does have a few inclines mainly up to Birmingham Midshires HQ and then by Lower Green when you go up to the lights on Tettenhall Road (By majestic) Both are relatively short. There's also one as you come out of Codsal heading up to the roadabout just past the Claregate
Thread is a bit quiet. I'm thinking of doing this as a training run as it is 5 weeks out from my target marathon of Leicester. What is the on course support like in terms of marshalling, drinks stations etc?
My friend was 2nd in this race 3 years ago and was sent off course at one point...
Probs a bit late to ask this, but been running a lot of miles every months (around 70-80) Well a lot to mean and be running HMs done about 5 this year alread at times of 1.35 - 1.38.
I wanted to do a Full Marathon in the new year but my wife is having my first child in November so I KNOW there will be no time for traning after that, so Im looking to take advantage of my fitness and stamina now and do this or nottingham.
Longest run I have just was about 17 miles and at a brisk 8.30 pace....
So my question is if I put in a strong month of turning my weekly runs (5-10 miles) to much slower long runs (15-20 mile) to get even more miles in my legs, would that sound a sensible plan for just getting around? Not bothered about time as it will be a PB whatever as my first
Im 28 for the record and have good knees if this helps the advice...
Cheers I just dont want to do it if its not sesible, even though I feel like I could do it!

I cant remember
sorry I missed you all after BBCHM, but had a great day!
Anyway, on to this one. Does anyone have the course profile (is it properly hilly?)? Just downloaded the map and am thinking of doing it this weekend.
Also from the Newbridge up to the Half way house is an incline (12 - 12.5)
sounds quite tough....
Ha! certainly not doing the full. Don't have the mental strength - half is definitely my distance!
Looking at the map, there seem to be loads of cut throughs and stuff - am I going to get horribly lost trying to do this on my own? Yep...!
There a bit where you run thru a school which obviously you wont be able to do this weekend. The rest is open roads.

Do we have any volunteers to cheer at the Newbridge pub from 12 Noon onwards?
