The Member Activity Table takes a variety of factors into account - as well as forum posts it includes things like visits to the site, event ratings, event entries etc. Different activities are weighted differently. For this reason, it won't always tally that the most active members are those that have posted most frequently in the forum.
So, just logging on and refreshing the forum front page is enough to take me up to the top of the activity table?
Seems a very distorted view of the site activity if entering an event makes you more active than someone who posts 50 or 100 times a day - and could cause problems if people's partners/employers see your name on a list suggesting you spend all your waking hours on this site. I would certainly wonder why my partner is down as a very active member if they are supposed to be at work all day.....
I agree with ST and there was heated debate on this a while ago when KK first spotted this. I don't give a shit what stats they keep on me but if its only about their financial interest ( who said Mizuno how often etc. Yawn) then why make it public?

Er no - not just logging on.I dont think we can work out the metrics.
But because of weightings there may be a multipier effect of two activities. I dont click much on ads but I do sometimes hit ads by accident. I wont rember clicking the ad - but if I clicked on ads and entered events in the same session - those activities may be multiplied togehther (rather than added) and so put me higher up an activity table.
I am posting more actively right now because I have to get something done by 5:00. If they measured avoidance activity I would be right on top of the table.
It's a mess, just checked again this morning and jumped up to 6th - WTF Nothing going on yesterday, just a few posts.Must be done by a 6 year old this calculation m'larky
If you look down the list , in the low 100's there are people that have never posted or been on here for weeks, above members that post alot and are here every day. ( Can't seem to find someone that i won't name, but starts alot of threads about herself, thought she would be near the top).
In response to your email kk, the table takes a variety of factors into account. So, as well as forum posts, it includes visits to the site, pages bookmarked, gear reviews, race entries, uploading an image to your profile etc. - each of which is weighted differently. For this reason, it won't always tally that the most active members are those that spend most time in the forums. It doesn't monitor conversations or content - just the activities themselves.

If there is a key they it is probably that they are measuring consumer activity of posters not posting activity of posters. just my opinion.
The activity report shows last logged on date - so it is relevent to them.
Yes but if you are logged on but dont post it MAY count as activity.
Am I missing something? Am I saying something really stupid here?

Hope that helps clear up some of the confusion,
