ah - see what you mean - different organiser. I'd assumed you'd meant it was the same organisers which confused me.
I do wonder however if each party knows about each other's race starting at the same venue on the same day. it might surprise some ladies expecting to do an 8k to find themselves heading up on the Downs!!
and there is absolutely no indication on that Rise sit as to what time the event starts
fat buddha - It is going to be interesting. I have send the Jog Shop Jog an email asking how it is going to work out with 2 races starting in the same place at the same time.
Hi Tracey, Thanks for the email. We've negotiated with them, and both races are going ahead at the same place. We will start at 9am and the women's race will start ten minutes later. We are going to share some facilities as well. Hope to see you there? Regards,Sam
This looks great, anyone done it before give some personal info on your experience of this race as i am interested in doing this instead of maidstone half.
HW - I was going to do Maidstone half, but thought it was too close to Beachy so I am doing this one instead. I expect to be hard like Beachy which I have done 3 times.
TG-I did the Maidstone half last year,a good one to do.Instead I'm doing Folkestone on Sunday then this Jog shop, which I just signed up for.So you done the Beachy head marathon-Love to do that, may be next year.Did the London one this year-so no longer a virgin,so am a proven stayer.Recommend Salamon Turbo X November 23rd Borden,if you don't mind getting dirty-great fun!
Very hilly and a great taster for Beachy Head. I've done the Joggy 3 times and train in the area too. Its a great low key hard core race organised by runners for runners.
Just don't go off to fast as you will pay for it in the later stages.
Hardest climb is the second one (North Face) Climbs out of Kingston are managable but steepish and the Snake is a long windy hill, you think you are nearly at the top until you go round the corner and theres more!
I'm kind of worried that an event described as a "low key hard core race organised by runners for runners" should sound so appealing to me. What have I turned in to?
The Three 2 Go marathon was one of a series of marathons counting down to the Olympics. Have done 3 marathons this year and 4th will be Beachy. I am very slow and so far have done 9 marathons.
I have entered this race as part of my training for the NY marathon which is 3 weeks later. I've never run the jog shop 20 before but from what I am reading it sounds pretty horrendous! For those of you who have run it before do you think it will help me for NY or do more harm than good?
Ben, its not horrendous, its hilly, scenic and off road but providing you are sensible you will be fine. Don't go off to fast and walk the hills in the first half whether you feel good or not. You will reap the benefit in the second half when you can push on and over take those who weren't so sensible.

I hope the wind has dropped a bit by next Sunday...bit of an old gusty one on the prom today.
