well ive tracked my local one down so ill have a nosey. Few things im after for winter. Anyone got one of their fluo jackets? are they worth the money or not?
Funnily enough, I was in a not so local Aldi this morning and saw one of those flo lightweight jackets from their last stock (in the bargain bin/rack), it was only a fiver. If it's not sold by Thursday I can see it going back on the rails at full price.
Aldi stuff is great...still got a jacket hat gloves and long sleeved running topfrom 2 years ago. Bought the same again last year because they were so cheap might just check out the socks this year and maybe hat and gloves just in case.
Word of warning as TFF says above sizes are v strange so try them on first , usually you need to go a size up.
I got a few pairs of the socks a few months back and they were great, much better than cheap sport socks which just got torn to shreads after a few long runs. Could do with some more after an accident with the washing machine... funny how stuff shrinks if your washing machine gets stuck on a high setting
Thanks for the heads up guys, will head on down on thursday and see what i can get!
Not bad stuff from what i could tell, bought plenty but will end up taking it back prob after trying it on tonight. See what you mean about the sizes, they were all over the place!!
Went to the Reading branch today at 10am but all the X-large stuff had already gone. The thick jackets looked good quality for the price (£14.99). I bought a couple of the thermal base layers. Have previously bought the socks so didn't bother getting more. Well worth a look, though they don't have a lot so may well all be gone by the weekend.
I went at lunchtime and it was all really picked over by then. Got to try everything on tonight. Bit puzzled as to why the womens tops came with a hood and the blokes didn't though.
Tried on the base layer earlier!! Feels great, not too constricting like i've heard some can feel and the design on the top makes it look i've got some muscle definition!! LOL All in all good buys!!
Always buy loads of stuff when Aldi do their running gear & never been disappointed. Always wondered about the shoes & today I finally bought a pair & tried them out on a 40 minute run. Big mistake. They might suit some light people with a neutral gait, but for me - six foot tall, nearly 15 stone, heavy on my feet & an over-pronator - they were no good at all. They were uncomfortable while I was running & afterwards I had sore arches & heels. The soles might look identical to Asics shoes, but they are no substitute for proper structured support running shoes.
I'll use them for everyday trainers (& at £12 a pair, they're pretty cheap ones), but I'm never going to run in them again.
tried all the stuff on, really impressed with the fit and quality to be honest. Only disappointment was the fluoresant jacket. Not great, far too flimsy and wasnt sure about the ventilation of it. Popped to Decathlon and got a much better one for £3 less so back it goes to Aldi today.

Aldi stuff is a bit hit or miss. Take the best and reject the rest!
Sizes can be strange but some of my all-time favourite running kit has come from there, and it LASTS and LASTS and LASTS.
Worth a look.

I managed to get a pink long-sleeved top without a hood- it's fab-my favourite colour and comfy too.
Shame that the rest of the women's tops had hoods, as I'd have liked a second top in a different colour.

Back to paying £50 a pair, I suppose...
