PO... I rarely complain. But I don't like alot of what happened here. 'nuff said yesterday, I've givine my feedback. It hasn't killed anyone so will move on! Morning btw PO - hows tricks over there?
Everything is actually going ok thanks over here. I miss a lot of the UK and a lot of the life I had - seems no matter where you go, that things are always differnet. it's great weather and nice to back with family and friends, but it's still almost a bit of reverse culture shock...
....scream I agree, I think the blue margins either side seem wasted space, and the forum window could be stretched a little, so it isnt quite so squished to the left.
I think it is worse if you have the 'see member stats' thing on though. A short post from me takes up loads of space as it shows no of posts, reviews etc.
Don't really mind the layout of the actual useful stuff - I don't really notice these things. It seems pretty clear.
However, the logo thing at the top of the page isn't displaying correctly for me - the red banner goes right through the middle of it & there is no "World".
My big bug-bear thoough it the incredible amount of space taken up with advertising - either RW itself, or its partners down on the right. And it flashes away, making it right annoying.
I don't think anyone from RW really reads these forums - if they did, they would know that pretty much all of us on here have pretty fixed opinions about the magazine. Either we are subscribers or regular readers, or we have got bored of the same old same old & do not buy it. I doubt RW adverts on here will make very much difference to sales at all.
I hate advertising with a passion and have only ever clicked on an advert on this site once or twice (and only then because it was quicker than googling the website of the company I wanted). I can't imagine doing it again as I have bookmarked all the companies I am interested in buying from.
I do understand that the adverts are what pays for the free content, however at a rough guess, it looks like only about 50% of the page I am looking at is actually the thread I am reading - the rest is just dead space to me.
The kids grew up listening to me singing Apple's praises so by brainwashing from a young age they now refuse to have anything else for their homework and play. At work anyone mentioning a PC in our studio gets tarred and feathered.
I'd agree that Mac users are usually more creative than PC users, but that doesnt mean they are better. It just means they are more suited to that purpose due to the availability of software.
For most 'browsers' and general users of t'internet a PC far outweighs anything apple can chuck at the market.
To be honest the new layout could be a lot worse. I do agree about the ads taking up too much room though. It seems like everything else has to be squashed to accomadate them.
I'm sure in a few weeks we'll all forget about what this site used to look like!

I quite like it
No problems from this end
I suppose some people will just complain no matter what happens
What has happened then? Have I missed something?

BUT onto more important things - how are you?!!!
...blimey a D2D thread where many people are agreeing with her!
RM...i did say MANY, not all.
I also didn't state my opinion of it.

see what you mean NL
To me it's the visual equivalent of using an old typewriter - your eyes want to keep going but you have to keep pushing them back!

It's OK. The ads are taking up more space, but I can live with that.
In a week's time everybody will have got used to it and no-one will think twice about it any more...
In what way?

...just seeing if my picture comes up.
thought I would wait until everyone got settled in....
They say that love is blind, but marriage is an eye-opener!
Perhaps one of those Magic Eye things?
Some people get it right first time, some have to try it a gain and again and some people will just never get it right.
