I have an Op on 22nd Apr so cant run the VLM, so sent off my deferal..... as instructed and as per instructions in VLM mag / website.
Had a nagging thought about deferal..... as heard so many stories of things not being recieved...
Well it was sent recorded delivery... followed the tracker and got a signature... so its been received right - WRONG... I rang up and they have no record of it what so ever.
Was told to send email and they would respond with confimation.... guess what that was at 10 am and nothing heard as yet......
Not impressed and a warning to others.....
I will keep pressing as this is my entry for next year.....

If the recorded delivery got a signature, then they should have this. But would guess the
LM staff are stressed out as they got a big run to deal with. So your letter might be in the
piegon hole.
Hope it turns up beforehand though.
I think going to the expo will prove fruitless. One, the officials won't be LM officials and
two, they will not know that your deferal as this will be at LM House.
The best way is to call the marathon again. Ask for the entry co-ordinator which is
Laura Samuels. Or a letter to her. She's the one who will be dealing with deferals,
GFAs and all entries.
If I read this right, you have deferred your 2010 place?
You have confirmation that it's been delivered? (did you keep a copy of the letter, and your proof of posting?)
Then I wouldn't worry about it now, and I wouldn't be bugging the VLM about it now - they're probably a bit busy just at the moment.
AFTER this year's race would be the time to sort it out.
Thanks all - all sorted via email now, makes it easier...
But they have stated they have no record of it despite being deliverded nearly 2 weeks ago.....
Wardi - you are very right but was alos to point out to others to ensure that theirs have arrrived as a warning to check.
Many thanks all
Take care and if youre running have agod race.
you have to tick the acceptance slip / registration letter (where it staes that you cannot run and you wish to defer) then send it (I would advise Special Delivery) to the address at VLM, on the acceptance letter, (it doesnt really state it in the mag, unless I missed it)
Thanks RFJ. That was all I could find and on the web, but you have reassured me. The wording on the form makes it look like there would be about 2 pages of info on it.
Good luck next year!
You are very kind RFJ. I forgot to say Good luck with the op. I sent the form by recorded delivery.
You fill and pay the fee. You are given a guaranteed entry so you cannot enter again
through the ballot for 2011.
