Hate to tell you guys..... but Dan - you're not special......... I met him too!! I was just leaving the start area to run to the finish to cheer in my mate in the elite ladies race and Haile was just entering the elite enclosure for the start of the mens race. I called his name (I was a little over excited) and he not only came over and shook our hands but posed for photos with me & my daughter too!! He really is a very nice man, very humble and OMG - what a time! 28.02 - I hope some of his talent rubs off on me!

Hate to tell you but I met him at the British 10k the year he won it. Cross the finish and as I pass, there he is. I went up to him, shook his hand, had a picture taken, signed my race number and had a chat too. He is one of the nicest you will ever meet.

Well, I shook his hand, had a chat, took photos, signed race numbers...... then gave him a lift home and he's still at my house now.... we're going for a run tonight I might keep him........
Squeakz........ you philistine! He is a running God!
I know its shameful and I've also gathered that hes pretty special I also can't help but wondering if Ive met him like so many people in this thread and just never noticed.
I have a feeling that perhaps he was that slim fella I passed during my last 10k

Well, I shook his hand, had a picture taken, signed my race number, had a chat, then went to the pub, then to the pictures, then gave him a lift home and he's still round my house now..... having dinner with Seb Coe, Tony Blair, Lionel Blair and Dennis Waterman off Minder. Don't worry, I won't keep him as I don't lock men in the basement. (you what I mean )
