The A34 Alderley Edge and Nether Alderley bypass is nearing completion.
We have been given the opportunity to organise a charity 5 mile road race on the road the week before it opens to traffic.
The course will be an 'out and back' course on a flat, fast, completely traffic free course. Entries now being accepted online or by post. Entry forms available from the websites www.wilmslowrunningclub.org or www.alderleyedge.com
Race suitable for all standards of runners.

Thanks Malc, obviously a never-to-be repeated event, sounds like good fun.

Does anyone know where the exact start is? A postcode etc? Prob going to do this just wondering about start, finish and parking etc?
Thanks
Ask Malcolm to save you a place david! He's just saved me one & I'm posting an entry.
He seems very helpful, as he deferred me an entry from his last race, for next year, when I pulled my hamstring & couldn't race.....
i entered the race late last night.
Will we receive race numbers in the post or is there a collection point at the bypass?
Cheers
I'm collecting my number on the day as I've entered late.
I have pre ordered a PB.....I feel this could be a fast one....
I'm guaranteed a pb as I've never ran a 5 miler before
Assuming I finish, anyway!
Where to meet......from Malcolm....
Drive through Alderley Edge on the A34 and just keep going for another 2 milesYou will then have a 400m walk to the start of the bypass and another 400m until you get to the race start. Pick up your race number from the gazebo by the start.RegardsMalcolmJust to confirm the arrangements. Car Parking is within the grounds of AstraZeneca which is on the A34 about 2 miles south of Alderley Edge. From the car park it is about 400m to the roundabout at the start of the bypass and then a further 400m to the Start of the race.
For those that entered late you will be able to collect your race number from the gazebo located near to the race start.
