Still no confirmation email from the event organisers, also on the http://www.racetimingsystems.com/public/race.aspx?id=1391 timing website it's say you can check whether you have been entered successfully online but I can't find the link.
It's remained dry all day today. A little bit of drizzle in the air this morning. I went along the canal at Fleet end and that was ok, but i understand from work when they did the recce on Wednesday it was very muddy Frimley end.
Cheers Muttley (yes done Box hill for the year so I get a pass for the summer)
I am there tomorrow - going to be slow as I did my `fast` shorter session today. As for shoes I`ll be wearing my biggest bouncy road shoes - mainly to protect that tendon....but I`ll be taking very easy in the muddy sections.
Around Frimley Lodge the towpath is, in places a bit boggy. The `puddle` is creeping in a bit but loads of room.
Ah yes, I remember The Puddle. Watch out for some of those low bridges too.
My heel/achilles seems to be mending so should be able to do more than a gentle 30-min plod soon. We'll see. In for Wokingham (doubtful, given lack of fitness) and also Water of Life.
Good run in the end - just the thing for a Sunday morning. Shame the entrance fee didn't extend as far as picking up a half decent medal.....in fact, considering the cost of the event, I think that's the worst i've received....
OK, I did go a little quicker than planned - opps BUT did have a very steady 1st two miles - 01:05:17 (LWJ - With Dan a 1 second behind & Dave had 4 mins on us)
So that`s what the whole route is like - I ran 2009. No puddle Great event - super route with smiling marshals and close enough for a good warm up & cool down. My garmin is not very good with canals - looking at my downloaded route I should have ended up soaked & set a new open water swimming world record this morning.

Hi Gatton - I will do indeed.
Genghis - don't worry, just get there a little earlier and go to the information tent.

Nicked in just under the hour, but that felt like bloody hard work today - think I might have woken up with the makings of a cold.
Anyone else have fun with the random mile markers? I think I ran a 4 minute mile at one point! (followed by a 9 minute mile at the same pace
Medals are important.
Howditgo, LWJ? Good run? How did that speedy young whippersnapper Mr K perform?
I really enjoyed this. Thank you to the marshalls including Howard and Ali.
I'd turn up again nect year - would have liked more loos though.
Two of the mile markers were well out, but other than that it was a good race.
Will be back for more.

My 1st medal since the end of October.
