I have just entered this race with some friends.I have had a look on a few web site to find out what the course is like could anyone give me an idea what i have got myself into cheers Nad
I've run a 10 k at Heaton Park before. Not sure if this one'll take the same route but there were a couple of hills. I managed it in just a couple of minutes short of my pb. I am taking part in this run too.
Hi Maire thanks for info.I was wondering about the course because i checked last years results and the times im running are very close to the winning time.Hope to finish in a good place then. Thanks again have a good race Nad
Can anyone tell me if this course is mainly hard surfaces (i.e. tarmac pathways) or soft surfaces (i.e. grass, soil) or bit of both???? The race is advertised as 'Trail' but I've just taken a look at some photographs of the park on google and it seems there are plenty of hard surfaces to run on. Just trying to decide which shoes to wear on on the day.
Hi Matt by chance i started chatting to a guy on the train last night and he told me the race last year was very muddy and the course is multi terran but mainly on grass so more cross country.Hope that helps Nad

Good luck everyone!!! Im running in this race too. Its my first 10km at Heaton Park but is quite local for me. Im doing it to help with my training for the nighttime walking Shine marathon on sunday 1st may and the manchester 10km on 15th may
I really enjoyed this run yesterday. The sun was shining & I left my Garmin at home I didn't get a PB but there were several hills so I'm happy with my time.
The lady sat at the crossing point cheering everyone on was brilliant, they chose the right person to sit in a place we had to pass 4 times.
