I appear to have entered this on 17 July...
Hampton Court to Kingston swim
Anyone else fancy coming along for a paddle? I'm hoping it will be a decent confidence boost pre IM Regensburg! Afterwards we could tack on a few laps of Richmond park, either biking or running then have a pirate picnic?
Or just go shopping in the Bentalls Centre?

I put that in in order to lure Meldy and Ditchy out!
Meldy I hope to wedge under a bridge somewhere never to be found again, Ditchy because she looks good in tight rubber!
Signed up for this aaaaaages ago.
Might consider a bit of biking after but doubt I'll be up to running anywhere.
Could probably force myself to participate in picnicing too
You knew that I would look!!!
Anyway, I am very busy that day with a pre appointed hang over
HH, not to worry, just send Ditchy along.....
Trying to work out getting there
Dunno.......... I know I caught a train from Waterloo to within walking distance of the start registration wasnt too onerous, fairly well organised from what i remember but then I was probably cacking myself at the time
Think I floated home
Of course, what would be good is a waterproof bag to put your shoes in for the swim and tow the bag, then shoes on and wettie in the bag for the run up to RP and a lap round, then T2 in the car park for a 5 lap of RP on the bike and just sling your gear in the back or your preparked car?
Or if someone were willing to pre collect shoes and dish them out of the back of their car and take the wetties to RP?
Blame Gladys for the idea of course, although at least RP is pan flat.
Four laps of RP with the trip to and fro would be about 30 miles. A run around the outside edge of Bushey would be about 6-7. Back to the cars for a meet up and maybe something to eat / drink? There's a reasonable pub on the south side of the river almost opposite Hampton Court.
I could try to persuade Madge, my better half, into coming up for the swim and the ride (don't think she'd be up for the run though!) Other halves could partake as much or as little as they wanted or go shopping. If you trust them with your credit card!!
Just to be clear, my day involves being dropped off by some friends, meandering down the river and getting to T1 and becoming a sane person again Friends have instructions to have a decent coffee waiting for me.
In a purely selfless gesture I am more than happy to cheer on the rest of you continuing your quest
I'm spending Monday and Tuesday down at Dunsfold and will be cycling back as part of my preparation! Can't cycle there as I have to drive a double decker bus down on Monday for some 'testing'!
BTW. Fancy joining me & Ferret on Reigate Sportive Sunday? I will have to EOD and fancy the middle.
Both ankle's are a bit sore today, I don't recommend attempting to stop a cricket ball with your feet! Yup! I'm stupid enough to do it twice!! Sheesh, at my age you'd think I'd have learnt that lesson by now!
Have fun at Reigate though!
Race info is up.
Think I might park car in Kingston and pedal round to Hampton Court - got to be quicker than the 30min ferry trip.
What waves are you all in? I'm not sure yet myself. Put myself down for a 1 hr 25 min swim time...
Damn, you noticed! So much for my sneaky way out of post swim pedalling
Can't remember what swim time I put it was that long ago. Think I read that waves would be posted on Tuesday.
Am signed up for this as well. Prob gonna get the train to hampton court rather than faff with parking, etc. Could maybe be tempted with a run afterwards if anyone fancies it but not convinced about the bike due to:
a) can't be arsed to bring bike, bike shoes, helmet, etc if not bringing the car
b) did the Surrey 100 sportive yesterday and my legs still ache so don't even want to think about the bike at this moment in time!
Times are up at http://swimseries.humanrace.co.uk/events/hampton-court/823-hampton-court-swim-entry-list
Anyone else?
