Actually having a schedule to follow was one of my main reasons for applying. To date it has been pretty much trial (and error) - reckon the feedback from the coaches along with "gut instinct" and a good training diary is the edge probably all of us need. Regardless of what happens with the 26.2, I have discovered a lot of information on the Runners World site and forums that will be helpful in putting that structure in place
I have Hal higdons book and Sam Murphy's too but stuck to Runners World for last couple of races, started on Hals pb 30 week schedule a month ago so see what happens this week!!!!
If only you all knew!! Mr. Pryde was born for this type of challenge. It is simply not possible for anyone to put as much effort into a challenge as this guy. I've seen the vomit!
Come on everyone, get your votes in for the Only Runner! I've been reading his blog and I'm sure that his story if successful will be an amusing one worth following on the road to the Paris Marathon.
Hey guys and gals - some serious campaigning been going on here! it was great to meet everyone at the boot camp and what a great experience it was - have already read the RW guide back to front as well and picked up some useful tips - plan for Dec/Jan is lots of leg srengthening and hills and XC races before the longer tempo work in the spring.
Although not shorlisted i'm really excited about the results coming out today or tomorrow - good luck to all of the 19 - it will be elation for those selected and I just hope those who do not make it will not lose heart.
Simon Pryde's worth a vote if nothing else for the cute cat photo on his twitter account!!!!!!!!!
I've just spent 30 minutes talking my mum through the registering for the website process (she's put herself down as a triathlete), and then she went and voted for someone else by mistake (as I did I).
Thanks to all on Runners WOrld for putting up with us for touting for votes and I hope that normal service will be resumed from 12.01 noon!! If you have voted have alook at the good folk in on a plateau section and if you can stand to look I am the third person on the list...........haven't got too many friends on all the social network sites but enjoy being on here and chatting and getting to know folks who like to run for various reasons. I am knocking on a bit according to my 10 year old daughter so got "no chance Dad!".
I am going to be out running at lunchtime to avoid the tension.....meeting my oh and daughter who are off today for a little four miler steady........up the trail near the office where I "work". Hope things pick up next year for the British economy. We all run as a family as we like to be fit and healthy and at the same time raise money for Bowel and Cancer Research as several in the family have been affected by this terrible disease.
Enjoy your day and thanks to all who like running and inhabit this site....See you on the forum soon.......mark
Good luck to all in the competition, whatever happens it was a pleasure meeting you at boot camp, you're all a great bunch of people and I wish you well in your running career and will be following your stories on the forum.
Come on RW tell us who the lucky winners are please - the suspense is killing me and i'm not even shortlisted!! Must be hell for the shortlisted folk. Good luck everyone.
Good luck to everyone who has got this far. Being lucky enough to be apart of the super six last year the final five are really in for a lifesaving experience, i wish i was doing it all over again !
accell.this as last years campaign.. not this year..and they won't supply a breakdown because the votes is only a part of the process.they don';t want to hand the power to the people.its not a democracy

Hi mcs,
I followed the RW smart coach for my one and only Half.
Seemed to work quite well, could just print it off and stick it by the back door so I know what I was meant to be doing.
Entered the comp so could get more focused training and develop into the future. Hoping help me break 2:00 on my next half too (just as a bonus).
Please
Please vote for BoDuke: Couch to Marathon in a year!
