Afternoon! No hangover here just a bit fuzzy around the edges! I really enjoyed that! As Saffers said, nice to put a few faces to names. With all the talk of what people are doing training wise I guess I'd better try to do some soon!! I thought all the laydees were looking good!
Reminds me, Saffers committed to Lanza 2013 as well.
Errrrr NO I DIDN'T!!!!
It was lovely though chatting to a group of friends about training/races and not worried if you were boring the tits off em......and if I was....tough. Was great fun.

My mate 'Benno' (the other one wearing a suit!) is slightly concerned that he's 'volunteered' for a bike leg at the Outlaw!! Is there a team that's short or can anyone shed any light on this?!! He's only just remembered it through his drunken haze!! Well, he's accusing me of volunteering him!!
was great to meet Golden Boots, who, at aged 12 and 3/4 must be one of our youngest IM Pirates.
I think you will find I am 24 and 1/4 and believe there is one other pirate who is younger than me. Anyway... everyone needs a bit of fresh meat and young male eye-candy, nobody wants to have to look at Barley all day (Who I offered to show how to shave as he seems to have never learnt judging by that picture!)
"Fat Buddha realised he was the only one who hadn't entered Outlaw 2012 in some form or other. Yet."
that's because (I think) me and P were the only ones there who have already done Outlaw! although I recall the talk with Gumps and Dermot about us doing a relay with me on the swim - we'll see if anything comes of it.
anyhoo - good to see everyone - completely bolloxed by the time we got home at 1am - jet lag and booze playing havoc with our systems
Agreed Ditchy, I too remember Gumps promising to go sub 5 hours on the bike. (Did you cab, bus or walk home from the station btw?)
FB, didn't Flatfooted do Outlaw last year? Good to hear you haven't retired though. (First "just the swim" , then "ah, OK, if you're short of a biker..." , then "sod it, in for a penny..."
And Meldy, thanks. You clarified my thinking about the Wales weekend. You wise old thing, you.
Henny you are welcome, Gladys you are dead.
Got to M'bone at a reasonable hour to find that some little fecker had nicked some cabling and trains were delayed/cancelled so managed to clamber upon a later one with about 4 trains worth on board

Sounds like you all had a fab time.
Hope your sore heads recover soon, you wild bunch of Pirates you! x
I vaguely recall Gumps offering to do a bike leg at Outlaw and had found himself a runner. I think they were going to tap FB up for the swim.
Thanks for organising last night Holly.
Never drinking again. Well, unti, I get to my brothers birthday dinner tonight. The thought of alcohol is turning my stomach! <bleugh>
Lovely to see everyone, as always. And mousey is very right - what a handsome bunch if pirates we have.
For those who missed it last night, Holly is clearly praying.
Probably that Flatfooted doesn't get any closer!
Thought if she's looking for her halo, she's looking in the wrong direction...
Holly ... Fab, as usual. Top party planning
You're going to be roast chicken!
You looked good dear and I texted you and you never replied

PS - was he the one with the stealth briefcase? Scared....
Gumps not only committed to the bike, he committed to doing a 5 hour bike, I'm sure.....
It was lovely to meet so many new faces, had a cracking night out. 4 nights drinking in a row has pretty much wiped me and my wallet out though

Lol Gumps, no backtracking now, two of us clearly (ahem, no gin-induced misremembering involved, oh no) remember a sub 5 pledge....
Gladys - there were no buses or cabs so I marched home in a 'don't mug me, I'm an iron-lady' kind of way. Managed not to stop for chips too.
I discovered caramel cognac on Saturday night which was not a brave move

The cold turned out not to be terminal after all
