If you were offered a choice between financial security for life (whatever that means to you) or ten years of guaranteed good health, which would you choose?
I think I'd go for financial security. I've not had much luck creating it so far, and I think to a certain extent you can buy good health - top health care, good food, time to invest in fitness...
Ah but there's a big difference between financial security (which I wouldq class myself as having) and being wealthy enough to pay squillions for treatment for serious illness if the NHS ran out of options.
Health - no point being rich if I feel too shit to enjoy it. In fact given I am always much healthier when skint financial security is clearly a big helath risk for me - but then again with financial security I could pay for whatever it takes to straighten my psychi out
nah still health - feeling great usually means I go for bigger things because they fit in with my whole view of life at the time. So I would expect the financial security to follow because i would make it so
Financial security - because I think the chances are my health will be OK for the next 10 years anyway so I'd take the gamble. I am interpreting financial security as being a lot better off than I am now though - not just knocking along being able to pay the mortgage kind of thing.
I reckon my running, my healthy diet, and my current health levels all mean I'm fairly confident of being in decent nick for the next ten years, so guaranteeing good health for 10 years doesn't have that much value to me.
However, financial security for life is probably something I will never truly have (at least not as I define it - which means not having to think about money as a consideration)......
As such, I would take a risk and go for the financial security for life, as long as there wasn't anything in the small print that said I had be unwell for the next ten years....
As a few of you know I have not had any financial security recently - and its on a down turn againat the moment but I would still chose health - I can cope with lots of things so much better with good health.
I'd go for financial security over health because even if I then contracted some illness I'd want to know that my family were provided for and that even while I was ill that there were times when we could still enjoy things.
Had a health check a couple of weeks ago and appareantly I have a 5.37% chance of a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years - can't be complacent, some work to do, but financial security would go a long way to help lower that figure.
Financial security, becuae for me worrying about finances is a big part in making myself unwell. When things are Ok financially, I tend to be in a much better mental state - whic is just better for everyone all round.

Financial security. Without a seconds thought.

I suppose that's where personal definition of financial security comes into it!
I think part of why I'd go for the money is that I've never really had good health, so I don't know what I'm missing. Warped logic

Health.
Other way round for me, I am more confident of my finances than my health.
I don't need a lot of money, but health makes such a difference
Good health.

No small print
Financial security and good health are probably linked.
🙂

.Health for me. I don't like being unwell.
