I'm a new member to these forums and have never posted here before. However, I've got a really great idea to do with running that I could do with your input on. Please go to my blog for more details.
new poster here so be nice to me please. I've heard the internet is such a nice place with really nice people.
now I'm really fit, I mean really fit. I work out in the gym. I go to every class there is and everyone always comments on how fit I am. I'm fit looking aswell.
i just completed a half marathon on sunday and was VERY disapointed.
Everyone was running past me at such speed I couldn't keep up. Now I know that I'm fit so where was I going wrong??
Ive always trained on the spinning bike and done loads of squats to strengthen the legs etc so I thought I was at least in the top 10.
ja5on ive looked at your training and you are not spending enough time on the bike...
you should also be doing lots of heavy weights , secret is high weight and low reps to get better at running. focus on your upper body especially biceps .....get yourself in front of a mirror and select the heaviest dumbbell you can possibly lift and give everything you've got to bash out 3 curls on each arm ( you should be making really loud involuntary noises almost like you are straining on the toilet ) .
follow the heavy stuff with a 30 second all out sprint on the tread mill.
try that for a few weeks and enter a Half Mara ....watch the difference

I'm planning on running two Half Marathons and a 10K... All in the same calendar year... Am I completely mad or what?!!!
I'm thinking of having Gait Analysis, I hear Sports Direct is my best bet.
does anyone wanna take my running questionnaire

i would really like your feedback.......positive only though.
Whilst you're down there I'd recommend that you get yourself a pair of Karrimor running shoes... They're like Nike but about half the price.
ja5onw - I have tried to go to your web page to help you out with your serious research project but the page is not working.
I hope you are not wasting our time and being childish ......

I don't want to be accused of being mean.
Yeah, that Cougie, he's so mean with his good advice and he clutters up threads with it. How dare he?
Ja5on apparently from a post some time back all you really need to do it look for the Ethiopian runner's and keep up with them. Should be easy.
